On draught in Antwerp. Pours a clear dark red color, slight white head and lace. Big cherry aroma and flavor, mostly sweet cherry flavor balance, slight late sourness.

this is certainly not the best kriek-beer i’ve had, appearance is good. aroma is a little to soft, almost no cherries. taste is too artificial to me (syrupy?). underlying sour and earthy lambic taste is good, but hard to notice. thin body. finish is too sweet.

UPDATED: NOV 7, 2011 The new bottle now reads "classique", which I thought was a good reason to taste again. There is nothing classical about it though, still the overly sweet, cherry juice kind of beer.
Too sweet. Cherry juice aroma. Flavour sweet, slight sour notes. Lots of cherry juice. In my humble opinion this beer has only one forte, and that is that it is drinkable for and liked by those who don’t like beer or lambic -yet. I know quite a few beer lovers in Belgium and the Netherlands whose first beers ever were Belle-Vue Kriek.

Bottle. Reddish colour, with a dense white reddish head. Aroma is cherries, krieken, and raspberries. Sour taste, slightly bitter, fizzling in the mouth. Fruity, with a slightly bitter and sourish finish. Nice to drink, thirstquenching.

UPDATED: DEC 21, 2006 Dark maroon, with a pillowy, lasting head. Obvious cherries in the aroma, although slightly artificial. Tart and sour, the flavour is nicely balanced, but a little bland. Medium-bodied and nicely dry, this slides down very easily.

Bottled. Dark red with minor white head, minor lacings as well. The aroma is light but has a sweet scent of mainly sugar. The cherry is very present in flavour, barely, it’ doesn’t really taste all that much.

TrefwoordPunk (652) - Leiden, NETHERLANDS - DEC 16, 2007
UPDATED: AUG 30, 2009 Bottle 33 cl. Pours a dark clear red with a pinkish white head and a sour smell of citrus and red wine vinegar. Taste isn’t sour initially, it’s very sweet like cherry flavored candy with hints of caramel and brown sugar. After that a very short sour note comes by, but that lasts for less than a second. Finish is heavily sweet, like you have been eating a lollipop. Not my kriek
