Crisp cherry nose. Deep maroon colour with a decent white foamy head. Cherryade flavour with a delicate acidity and malty, oaky, ironish tones.

Bottle. Sweet cherry-like aroma with some hints of sour acidity in the nose as well. There are also sour apple notes as well. Pretty pleasant aroma. Hazy copper/brown color with a small tan head. Pretty damn ugly compared to the Lou Pepe I had last week. Mild acidity and lactic notes to start, quickly followed by sweet cherries...almost medicinal in nature. Finishes a bit roasted and bitter. The cherries work in this beer like the cherry flavor works in Amoxicillin. It feels as though the fruit is trying to hide something as opposed to working with something. This is very drinkable though, but it just doesn’t jive with my palate.

Deep red colour with a thick and foamy but mostly diminishing pink tinted head. Sour cherry aroma. Flavour of tart and sweet cherries. Palate is flat and light but refreshing.

As La Becasse Kriek. Dark red with an off-white head. Aromas are cherry drops sweets with hints of musty sourness. Flavours are sweet cherries followed by, er, not much. Its more factory than farmyard, which is a shame. Is this a real airbourne yeast fermented beer? It seems too sterile. As a sweet cherry beer it is OK, as a lambic, not.

A bit too lite for a lambic. For the price, a good intro to the style.

37.5 cl bottle Dark red with brownish shine; huge, fine bubbled pink head with fine lilac lace. Wet dog, woody and faint fruity nose, getting more fruity and syrupy with time. Restrained fruity taste. Sweet, but not too overtly artificial. Woody notes, and again this "wet dog" - this time flavourwise. It IS a bit meaty-estery. Cherrydrops finish. Medium bodied, slight slickness, finishes a bit cloying and fizzy, giving it a metallic compound. A few of the "artisans" brew much worse. It has no Brett character, no sourness, no lively fresh fruit. It is sweet, but not exaggeratedly so, it is not synthetic. It’s just lame. And the kriekenlambics from the pipes at Henegouwenkaai were so good, once...

Pretty easy to drink for a lambic. First, only moderate lambic nose, more fruit than funk or brett or lactobacillus. Hazy reddish pink, small vanishing head. Taste of cherries and a little sour notes, maybe yoghurt. Moderate palate. Again, easy to drink, hard to dislike, hard to love.
