This beer was given to me as a present and I am glad it was. Bellerose is a very refreshing blonde ale from France, thought they only made wine, pretty good. Tasted from a 750 cork bottle

Pours a golden colour with a good soapy white head. Aroma of dough, hay, salvie and spruce. Lovely smell! Flavour is supprising, reminded a lot of a belgian dubbel. Quite sweet, but not too much. Dough and spruce still present, making a good balance with the sweetness. Some light bitterness in the finish. A lot a carbonation, which suits this beer well. Good body and a smooth palate. A really good beer, and quite accessible here in aus.

UPDATED: NOV 20, 2014 Very VERY fruity indeed, but strangely enough not too sweet. The litchi flavours is interesting enough, although it may not necessarilly be my ultimate cup of tea...

33 cl bottle. Dirty blonde color, rocky creamy white head settles and lasts. Skunky citrus floral aroma. Citrus forward taste, light bland malts, rosy lychee is evident, some clove and spices. Average carbonation, light bodied, low hopped. A slightly more interesting blonde, finishes dry. LBW (Lagerboys Be Wary)

Flaska.

from Morteau, France - hazy blond-orange beer under a solid white foam; nice lacework; aroma of almonds, old apples and tangerines; sweet and medium-bodied; light residual sweetness and more fruity and gently spicy tones in the finish - not much character yet ok

Nice looking label and story on the back. Unfortunately the beer was very disappointing. I’m not sure if it was bad, but I didn’t get much hop presence. Instead, a rancid butter (reason to belief it is a brewing mistake) aroma dominates. Some lychee perhaps, yes, but very mild malts. The carbonation is soft and pleasant, but the taste has too much butter as well. I will pick this up some other time to re-rate. (33cl bottle from Chop’in)

Pours amber with a large white head. Nose shows doughy Belgian yeast, spicy phenols and orange peel. Pretty similar flavours, more orange peel, spicy phenols, light malt and cinnamon. A little heavy on the spices but still nice. Good moderately high carbonation.
