Bottle at home from ales by mail. Hazy chestnut with fluffy beige head collapsing to a lacing. Bit of digestive biscuit on the nose. Dry coffee and nutty brown malt. Fairly sweet, with astringent malt and dry cocoa notes in a brief finish.

Cask at the moon under water Watford jdw. Hazed caramel brown colour pour with a thin cream head. Aroma is like praline nutty malt with a hint of smoke. Flavour is bitter apple skin, caramel, praline and nuts. Slightly sweet burnt sugar. Medium carbonation. Some light dried fruits in the finish.

Bottled (from AbM). Deep coppery brown colour with a mediumsized creamy off-white to beige head, that leaves some lace. Aroma is nutty, toffeeish with some ripe fruits and mild red berries. Flavour is nutty ripe fruity, with a nice floral bitterness as well as mild berries and sweet malts. As such a solid, but quite basic brown ale, but combined with a proper brunch this beer became really pleasant. Numbers given are for the beer without the brunch to go with it.

Bottle@The Railway, Streatham, London - dark brown pour with a medium off white head. Roasted, toasty malts, nutty, caramel, syrup, brown sugar, some hop and mocca nuances in background, pretty light in body, quite liked this one.

Bottle, Kris Wines, London. Dark reddish brown pour with a restrained off -white head. Earthy malts and dark fruit in the nose. Similarly malt driven flavour. with some decent hop presence. Lacking any real knock out blow but an above average swigga.
