Cask at the Express, deep brown with a big tight head, aromas of bread, nuts and a little baked apple. Toasty malt and earthy hops, more breadiness and a fairly powerful drying herbal bitterness.

Thoroughly well built bitter. Deep amber colour, biscuit maltyness on the nose. Nutty and fruity with a slightly sweet malt background this is a delicious, morish ale.

Bottled (from AbM). Deep coppery brown colour with a mediumsized creamy off-white to beige head, that leaves some lace. Aroma is nutty, toffeeish with some ripe fruits and mild red berries. Flavour is nutty ripe fruity, with a nice floral bitterness as well as mild berries and sweet malts. As such a solid, but quite basic brown ale, but combined with a proper brunch this beer became really pleasant. Numbers given are for the beer without the brunch to go with it.
