COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Made from mostly pale malt and some Munich and caramel malts. These add a little sweetness, which is balanced by more hops. The result is a rich color and fruity flavor.

Not the prettiest amber ale around (more of a muddy brown) with a thin, off-white head. Very American aroma with grapefruit and a sweet, caramel malt but a definite Bellís house character encompassing it all. A great balance of malt and hops. Maltiness up front with hop flavor coming in shortly after, then acidity cleaning up at mid-palate, followed by sweet, creamy, toasty caramel malt finish.

12oz bottle, no BBD. Chunky pour, big head. Sweet malty, carmel nose...grainy. Taste is more of the same. Peachy, apricot fruitiness mixes w. the big malt presence. Luscious big beer that luckily doesnít finish too sweet. If I could buy this all the time locally, I probably would.

UPDATED: FEB 18, 2005 Was a bit generous on 1st set of numbers. Thin head, gorgeous color, with a smattering of grains and yeast remaining in the bottle. I wowed the in-laws with this over Thanksgiving. We enjoyed the simple clean fruits, slightly hopped, and the quiet background noises of amber malts and a touch of dark grains. I recommend chilled (58 F) and often.

Pours to a small head and to a opaque red-orange (amber, eh?) color. Nice taste, not too hoppy, not too mild. A nice mix of sweetness and fruit. Iíd buy this again.

Bottle. Murky amber color with a decent head that turned to nothing pretty damn quick. Aroma was fruity and yeasty. Taste is a jumbled, yeasty mess with flavors of tangerine/orange and dough. The mouthfeel is a bit subdued and the body a bit thin. Dissapointing.

Pretty good amber. A decent head and nice body. I had it on tap, so I will have to try the bottle. Not too hoppy.

bottle. Pours a cloudy, amber with a very nice creamy white head. flavor is somewhat citrusy and slightly sweet. very smooth. it would be quite easy to knock down several of these!

Poured orangey cloudy amber with no head and MUCHO floaties...almost like an Achel Tripel...the floaties, not the color...smell is all malt, with caramel and sweet cookie dough dominating...taste is rich and malty...sweet with nuts, biscuits, dough, an a hint of caramel...quite tasty and flavorful for an amber...

SUPER malty! Reminds me of several homebrews in the american ale style. Not enough hops to balance the sweetness. Not a favortite of mine but does have itís merits as an old standby. Quality ingredients make up for a lack of complexity.

Lucky thing we caught the guy at the liquor store in Oxford, OH last night before he locked up or I wouldnt tried this fine amber ale. Great taste great aroma. A good way to fill the gap for my Fat Tire cravings while Iím at Miami.
