COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Made from mostly pale malt and some Munich and caramel malts. These add a little sweetness, which is balanced by more hops. The result is a rich color and fruity flavor.

Bottle pours pale caramel, very cloudy with bits floating about, virtually no head, good carbonation, with slick lacing.   Sweet malts & butterscotch on the nose.   Semi sweet malts up front, immediately followed by a biting graininess, which also fades rather quick.   Finishes rather boring, more bitter than malty.   Medium body and mouthfeel, but too much like a malty pale ale.   Thankes goes out to atpayne for the trade!

smells a lot like caramel and metal (oxidized hops maybe?) typical amber appearance, very average-looking. tons of caramel presence, and more hops than most ambers, but nothing spectacular. worth a shot anyway!

Although this amber has a nice (albiet unexpected) hop bitterness, it is cloyingly sweet. Like drinking sugar syrup. I mean it’s not terrible but definetely lacking something that makes a beer exceptional.

Heavily carbonated and amber as advertised. The bubbles are dense, the malt is dense and the hops are dense. I expected something much milder (and less interesting). Caramel malt and hops are perfectly balanced. Not for hopheads, but sessions with a bag o’ chips.

well balanced some sweetness up front with just the right ammount of hops at the end. carmel. a wonderful brew. i think that this would probably make a good gateway beer for those who are averse to good beer.

UPDATED: DEC 13, 2004 Vigourus carbonation with thick white head. Nose is restrained, with some hop character, though not very inticing. Nice weight on the palate, with a soft finish. flavour leans toward carmel with some sweet malt though it finishes dry with hop notes. Not bad , definatly enjoyable, but I expected more from bells.

07.14.04 12 oz bottle courtesy of jsquire. Pours cloudy, glowing orange amber. Sweet aromas are everwhere, even sweet for an amber. Cherry and apple blossoms. More cherry in flavor along with the usual sweet bready malts. Strong malt presence and clean hpp finish. Creamy, clinging white head. Nicely done; looking forward ro more of the Bells goodies.
