COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Made from mostly pale malt and some Munich and caramel malts. These add a little sweetness, which is balanced by more hops. The result is a rich color and fruity flavor.

Good clowded amber color. Mouthfeel is quite smooth, but ends with a small crispness to it. Flavor is a wheatish malt but rather sweet. Who knew that something so good could come from a superfund site?

On tap at a local bar. A nice copper amber color with a moderate head. Good mouthfeel with a smooth flavour.

Tasty amber with some unique characteristics for the style. It seems all of Bellís products have just a slightly different taste that I canít quite put my finger on. Great mouthfeel and a nice hint of mildly roasty sweetness with a good dose of hops to finish.

Pours a copper color with a huge white head and excellent lace. Aroma and flavor is of hops. This is what I would describe as a cloudy pale ale. Nice thick mouthfeel to go along with the other sences. Good stuff.

Pailhead (4900) - Brownstown, Michigan, USA - MAY 16, 2004
Bottle: Aroma is a nice blend of malts and hops. Pours more of an transparent orange than an amber. A little sediment floating around. Not much of a head. Taste is sweet (caramel) and finishes just slightly bitter. Very short lived, slightly bitter aftertaste. Nice balance. I donít really find anything all that spectacular about this beer. It is good, but an average rating of 3.6? Bellís reputation?

Update: On my last sip, I noticed this intensely beautiful aroma that I associate with my favorite pilsners, of all things. Also, I marvel at the subtlety of this beer. This is really excellent, quiet and elegant. Top notch. Old: Yeasty beer with a long lasting fluffy head. Slightly sour aroma, but everything about the smell is slight. Flavor is a bit slight, too, but what is there is quite nice. Some light, creamy apricot notes keep it interesting. I like it more and more as I get through the glass. Fine beer, though if I were to order one of Bell?s lighter beers, it would be their magnificent brown ale.

This gleaming brew was acquired in trade with CB and TAR, Thanks you guys!
Pours a hazy amber body with a mountainous and rocky tan head. This ones got some big chunks of oatmeal looking stuff floating around. The nose is sweet and malty. The barley is most present, along with some notes of summer honeysuckle and caramel. The flavor brings most of the same attributes as the aroma.. with the addition of a tart lemony bite in the finish. Overall itís exceptionally drinkableÖ. More mentions of caramel than most Ambers; and a little graininess, maybe Rye that differentiates the Amber Ale from others.

Bottle at Union Jack's Pub in Speedway, IN on 4/1/2004. Bottle pours a nice looking amber color with a nice head and lace all the way down. The aroma is slightly hop like. The flavor is sweet malt with a good bitter balance. Rich body provides some nice backbone to this. Overall, very nice.
