3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottled. Thanks pailhead. Pours a cloudy....amber with some orangish hints in it. Cloudy with a small white head that dissipated quickly. Aroma is of very bready malts. Grainy and doughy and slightly sweet and yeasty. No hops in the nose. Flavor was sweet upfront of caramel and cereal grains, definitely a malt monster with a bit of malty nuttiness. Slight hop bitterness and earthy hops, possibly UK hops with maybe a tinge of grapefruit. Ester profile is moderate but gives just enough fruity balance. Finishes moderate dry. Body was quite full, especially for an amber; goes down smooth and easily with adequate carbonation. Great session beer. Solid but not ’blow-you-out-of-the-water’ like some other Bell’s.

From the 12 fl. oz. bottle dated 01/28/15. So I am having this a few months later. Don’t buy beer at convenience stores. Decent looking medium amber pour with a big, foamy off-white head. Aroma is a basic caramel malt sweetness and a mild hop note. Medium body. The taste is immediately sweet with little to no bitterness at the finish.

2.5 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Bottle. Didn’t pour, but appearance through glass is clean and deep amber. Aroma okay, a hint of skunk. Light-bodied, a little carbonated. Taste hard to pinpoint. A little bit of bitter aftertaste, barely detectable. A good beer for a hot day, slightly better than Killian’s, but more expensive.

12 Fl. Oz. Bottle. Poured amber, half inch of foamy off white head and lots of lacing. Aroma of caramel and some hops. Taste is a bit bready, some malt notes and some fruit slightly hoppy. Tasty, enjoyable, very good beer.

Another amber ale I enjoyed very much. I have not yet found a Bell’s beer that is not enjoyable.

Average amber ale this beer lacks taste. Very little hoppy flavor. Color is good little aroma. Bells could do better.

Pours clear Amber from 12 oz with thick white head. Faint malty aroma. Sweet, mild bitterness, no dominant secondary flavors. Light on the palate. Overall average beer. Not very tasty but no off flavors either.
