3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottled. Thanks pailhead. Pours a cloudy....amber with some orangish hints in it. Cloudy with a small white head that dissipated quickly. Aroma is of very bready malts. Grainy and doughy and slightly sweet and yeasty. No hops in the nose. Flavor was sweet upfront of caramel and cereal grains, definitely a malt monster with a bit of malty nuttiness. Slight hop bitterness and earthy hops, possibly UK hops with maybe a tinge of grapefruit. Ester profile is moderate but gives just enough fruity balance. Finishes moderate dry. Body was quite full, especially for an amber; goes down smooth and easily with adequate carbonation. Great session beer. Solid but not ’blow-you-out-of-the-water’ like some other Bell’s.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Pours a hazy amber color. One finger tan head. Short lived, head reduces to film. Light lacing.
Aroma is bready and honey. Very malty, medium toasted malts. Some caramel, some floral hops. Nice.
Taste follows the nose. Bready, malty sweetness. A little bitter, but not much. A little butter, a little caramel. Very nice.
Mouthfeel is medium to full bodied. Light carbonation makes it a little soft. Finishes a little bitter and semi dry.
Overall, this is great. Not much to say about it. I would buy it again, and I would recommend it.

2.7 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 10/20
Bells Amber Ale isn’t bad but doesn’t live up to the line. Translucent amber pour with weak head. Light if any aroma. Taste is a straight up amber ale -- no real fruit flavors detected. Amber Ale mixes well with food or is a good drink on a hot day, but nothing special.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
A- Caramel, bread dough, sweet malts, subtle grains.
A- Orange color, hazy liquid, white head.
T- Caramel, biscuits, slightly sweet, slightly bitter.
P- Medium body, average texture, average carbonation, malty finish.a
O- Had a nice touch of bitterness that gave it a little distinction from most boring ambers. While I wouldn’t say I love this beer I thought it was well done.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
12 oz bottle with dinner. Enjoying how easy it is to get Bells around here. It’s an afterthought, but back home it would be welcomed nicely. Much more artistic bottle than the site provides. Clear copper pour with a patchy head. Big time bready malts, and a refreshing finish. Well made amber for sure. I think I’ll have another.

So nice to have you in Nebraska, Bell’s. Won’t you settle in for a while? Amber pours, uh, amber with an off-white head. It smells like caramel, forest hops, and citrus. It all carries through into the flavor with some added notes of berry and toasty biscuit malt. Medium-bodied, crisp, and slightly creamy. This is a time-honored Amber and it’s for good reason.
