3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottled. Thanks pailhead. Pours a cloudy....amber with some orangish hints in it. Cloudy with a small white head that dissipated quickly. Aroma is of very bready malts. Grainy and doughy and slightly sweet and yeasty. No hops in the nose. Flavor was sweet upfront of caramel and cereal grains, definitely a malt monster with a bit of malty nuttiness. Slight hop bitterness and earthy hops, possibly UK hops with maybe a tinge of grapefruit. Ester profile is moderate but gives just enough fruity balance. Finishes moderate dry. Body was quite full, especially for an amber; goes down smooth and easily with adequate carbonation. Great session beer. Solid but not ’blow-you-out-of-the-water’ like some other Bell’s.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle. Slightly hazy dark amber colour. Muted aroma but there is some floral hops and caramel with a hint of roast. Medium body, watery mid-palate and a slightly bitter finish. I find this not overly enjoyable.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Brick red color, not much head. Had a sticky palate. Earthy malts as expected. The hops are bitter and woody, but not overwhelming. The woody hops float above the glass and then linger in the aftertaste. Amber isn’t my favorite style but this one has enough hop balance to do it right.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
12 oz bottle poured into a pint. The pour is an iteration of an amber color. It seems a little darker with a medium slightly off white head that fades down to a ring, leaving sporadic lace. The aroma is sweet. You definitely get the malts up front, and it's a little bready on the nose. The flavor is just as light and sweet. The caramel malts are very prevalent. The mouth feel is thin, watery, but the aftertaste does hang around a little bit, which is nice

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
Color is a amber/caramel which is hazy. and pours a big off white head, lacing is ok. Aroma is sweet, fruity, herbal, and a little floral. very sweet up front but finishes a little bitter, nice contrast. has a nice carbonated feel on the tongue. nice flavors but could be a little more prominent. Try it if you see it but don’t run out to grab a six pack right this second.

From growler. Hazy, well, amber color. Aroma is of cookies and damp cellar. Hints of spice over caramel malts. Chewy. Very traditional.
