4.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 19/20
Across the board, this beer is just right, from the initially stridently peppery hop character to the soothing, mouthwatering finish, it is a classic. Economy of means makes it so--itís like a beer version of a Graham Greene novel. Itís not the most aromatic beer, nor is the color irresistable, but the sum of the parts yields an utterly satisfying beer. It is a unique Amber Ale, which I agree with a previous reviewer, is a pretty boring category.

Poured nicely with a average, lasting head. Body is hazy with a nice amber color, and there appeared to be some sediment. I jumped right into this one and found it to bitter an full of hops. I checked the bottle to confirm this was not a PA and went in again with the same result. The flavor mellows after a few sips, but I tasted nothing else. Based on the ratings I wonder if this was a bad bottle. May have to try it again.

This is another good offering from Bells. This amber pours an organish-copper color with a small white head. It tastes of caramel with a sweet subtle hop thrown in for good measure.

A very good amber. Sweet and slightly hoppy. Tasty flavor with caramel malt and mild bitterness. Easy drinking and very enjoyable.

Pours a hazy copper brown. Has a thick white head. You can taste caramel, toffee, sweet fruits, and bitter hops. It leaves a warm hoppy taste on your tongue.

Tried my first bells beer and I was not disappointed. The smell was rich in hours, did have a dark amber color, had a very hoppy taste, and was a somewhat bitter after taste. Overall I would drink it again.

Not bad but nothing special about the amber. Nothing remarkable but nothing off putting.

The flagship beer of a top ten brewery. It is a little above average. Great reddish, brown color. Not a good start but a good finish. Give it s a shot, and then go straight to Bellís Oberon or Bellís Hopslam!!!

Very well balanced with caramel and buttery taste. Just enough amount of hops. I will enjoy this beer everyday anytime of the day.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
poured a nice copper color with a sweet aroma. Was pretty cloudy with sediment. Flavor is sweet with a hops bite. Palate was fair, nothing special. Good but not the best amber ale
