walter (359), Staunton, Virginia, USA Dec 3, 2007 Draft, Baja Bean, Staunton VA. Medium amber with fluffy white head. Nose is fairly bready, lightly toasty, with a hint of floral hops. Flavor is malt-forward with a lightly sweet touch of flowery/perfumy hops in the background. Nice bitterness round everything out, and the finish is clean without dropping off. Solid beer, a real delight on draft.
Moggman (40), Columbus, Ohio, USA Oct 2, 2008 Bottle. Pours amber with white/off white head. Aroma is malty sweet with hints of citrus. Flavor is malty and finishes with good balanced hops. timsilvia32 (244), from Michigan now in Charlotte, North Carolina, USA Oct 1, 2008 Light red pour, whitish head. Sweet malt, some pine aromas. Malt and toffee flavors throughout, little raisin or something green fruit. Nice bittering hops through the finish. Well balanced and drinkable, but nothing outstanding. One of Bell’s more sessionable ales. kosko20 (137), Bemidji, Minnesota, USA Sep 29, 2008 Perfect pour, caramel-amber color with a nice thick off-white head. Beautiful aroma, perfectly balanced of caramel malts and hops. Flavor is also balanced nicely of the same malts and hops and has a slight fruity flavor. Palate starts sweet, ends bitter...but slightly for both spectrums. Mouthfeel is a little thin and light on carbonation. A very easy drinker. stankenk (60), Maplewood, Minnesota, USA Sep 29, 2008 ABR ’08 - On Cask. It pours medium amber with tick lacy head. The nose was sweet yet some bitter hops. It seemed to be quite bitter and the head just got to be too much. dogfish120love (76), west hartford, Connecticut, USA Sep 25, 2008 Pours a cloudy murky amber orange. Thin head. Smells sweet yet the hops give it a bitter smell, i also smell cider. Cider agian on the flavor, definetly some fruity notes. It’s unlike any other amber ale i have had its sweeter. I swear i can taste apple in this, which to me seems to deviate from the style.
