Made from mostly pale malt and some Munich and caramel malts. These add a little sweetness, which is balanced by more hops. The result is a rich color and fruity flavor.

Realizing that I am not as much an amber fan as I thought I was. Solid brew from a fantastic brewery.

Pour is cloudy amber orange with a nice foamy white head. Aroma ensembles fresh baked bread and citrus. Taste is slightly bitter and breads with a smooth finish that leaves a strong bitterness. As far as ambers, I have certainly had better.

Draught. Clear amber color with medium beige spongy head, very little hops aroma, slightly sweet and spicy taste, medium finish with bitter aftertaste. Reminded me of an ESB.

Look: pours a dark Amber. White head. Minimal haze. Smell: similar to a lager. Caramel sweet. Cracker or bread. Taste: bitter on the back. Slight breadiness. Not overly sweet like the aroma. Pine. Onion. Feel: medium carbonation. Not overly dry, just on the back end. Overall: ok beer. Just not my style. First drank: home 11/23/14

Bottle. Head is initially small, frothy, off-white, mostly diminishing. Body is medium amber. Aroma is lightly to moderately malty (caramel, toasted grain), lightly to moderately hoppy (apricot, orange, flowers). Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly acidic, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly to moderately sweet, lightly acidic, lightly to moderately bitter. Medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation. Fairly sweet, and the nose is simple (nice fruity hops though), but it’s clean and enjoyable enough.

UPDATED: SEP 16, 2005 ReRate again! this beer is just not that good. this bottle i had was pretty fresh and it just didn’t do it for me. the beer was lightly carbonated, smelled like seaweed and toasted grains. herbal/tea flavors with a very flimsy body. highly over-rated amber in my book! ReRate-another one of the origonal ratings that i had to go back to. pous a copper hue with small white head. medium carbonation. slightly buttery dyacytl aroma, especially on the older of the 2 bottles i had. the toasty malts are the most represented in this beer. some hops in the finish-earthy and dry. not a bad amber, but not one of the best either.

Pours to a fizzy white head that quickly but not fully dispapates. The body is a liquid caramel color. There are tiny brown particles in the opaque body. The aroma is kinda weak. Light caramel malts and some apple peel with light nuts. The flavor is malty and lightly floral with an ever so slight nuttiness. I can’t say that this is very good. Perhaps an old bottle? The palate is velvety and has decent carbonation. Medium light mouthfeel, yet it still seems watery. This one falls way short of being a good beer.

Maple colored, gentle off-white head. Apricot and peaches are overrun by sweet caramely maltiness in the nose. Light floral hops, herbal and balanced. Fairly typical, even for an amber ale. The hoppiness remains fairly restrained, while the malt dances from québécoise rousse nuttiness to more competent toastiness. Light-medium bodied, malty texture, moderate carbonation. Cerealic, smooth, sweet and easy-going for a 6% beer.

Thanks to Duane for this one. It poured a nice copper color, with an average head. Flavor was a bit too sweet for me, not very balanced, sweet aftertaste. Not terrible by any means, but not great either, ok.
