COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Made from mostly pale malt and some Munich and caramel malts. These add a little sweetness, which is balanced by more hops. The result is a rich color and fruity flavor.

Bottle with dcachur after the Founders night, RBSG. Nice amber malt falvor and great hop balance. Slightly sweet, with a bit of chocolate and caramel. Very drinkable.

Tried my first bells beer and I was not disappointed. The smell was rich in hours, did have a dark amber color, had a very hoppy taste, and was a somewhat bitter after taste. Overall I would drink it again.

Possibly the best Amber Ale I’ve ever had. Rich caramel taste that never gets old. I can’t rate it super high with the huge flavors of other beers, but this is as good as it gets for this style, or at least as good as I’ve had. Delicious.

This seems way too sour to me to be drinkable. And the sourness of the beer lasts rather long. Pours amber with a moderate head, but becomes relatively unappealing after that.

12oz bottle. deep amber in color with a thin head. bread and caramel are the dominate aromas. taste follows the aroma, mainly malty with a touch of earthy hops at the finish.

Wow, who knew an amber could be so good? Pour is appropriately amber with a thin head and nice lacing. Aroma of caramel and lightly toasted bread. Taste is a little sweet, a little hoppy. All around, very nice.

Dark amber. Thick lacing. Tastes like a hoppy fat tire. Crisp and dry. Caramellized.

Originally reviewed: 5/24/11. 12oz bottle. Batch 10159 - bottled on Jan. 19, 2011. Pours an uber-cloudy dark orange with a thin white head as a capper. Retention is lacking. No lace left behind. Boring. The nose is mildly sweet with notes of honey, caramel, crackers. Hops are surprisingly absent in the nose. Again, sort of boring. Nice medium chew to the body. Decent carbonation level backs it up and carries it through to the end. Have I become jaded by all the highly-hopped Ambers out there? This one comes across as mellow, albeit flavorful. Lots of sweet malts, mild hop bite, bready finish. There’s a faint citrus tartness to it on the back end, but it’s fleeting. All-in-all this was a good beer. I wouldn’t stress too much to get some more, but not a beer I would ever turn down.

Not a huge fan of ambers, but almost everything Bells makes is good. Nice light bodied amber with notes of sweetness from the malts and citrus from the hops. Very well balanced and nice beer.

From bottle to pint glass. Pours a hazy amber with a thin off-white head. Smells of sweet caramel malts and a bit of citrus hop. Flavor is much of the same but is slightly muted with a smooth bitter finish. MF is nice with good, medium carbonation. Overall this is a nice, easy drinking session beer.
