Pours dark brown with reddish hues, fine head. Good looking beer. Aroma is dark malt with some roastiness, hints of dark chocolate, as it warms I get some alcohol. Big mouthfeel, large beer here. Malty sweetness, dark malt, hint cocoa/coffee flavor. Lingering malty sweetness.

4.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
On draft at Eccentric Cafe circa first week of May, 2013. This beer smelled and tasted just like fresh chocolate melted over the stove. Sweet chocolate balanced by some dry nuttiness. A texture like melted butter. Cleaned up on the palate beautifully, leaving no harsh aftertaste. Virtually no hint of alcohol in this beer. Outstanding.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Sample at Eccentric. Pours a deep brown with aromas of coffee grounds and topsoil. Oddly I’m not picking up that over ripe plum aroma I associate with the style. Flavor is Baltic cloyingness with lots of dark sugar and that coffee ground edge. Even though this is different from almost every Baltic porter I have tried, I still don’t care much for it. Sticky and sweet.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
On tap at Bells. Smells like dirt and coffee. Simply put it tastes like a Baltic porter. Coffee, some blood and a bandaid. Mediocre at best.
