Tap sample. Poured dark clear brown color with an average frothy tan head that mostly lasted with good lacing. Moderate toasted malt and chocolate aroma. Medium body with a dry smooth texture and flat carbonation. Medium dark sweet flavor with medium dark sweet finish of moderate duration. Soft beer.

Draft. Chocolate barley malt aroma. Dark chestnut with small head. Sweet chocolate malt with a hint of cherry. Light alcohol finish. Excellent - full-bodied and easy to drink.

Draft to taster at the Eccentric Cafe. Looks decent; pretty thin though. A transparent brown with thin off-white lacing. Smells solid; dark malt and roast. Tastes like it smells, but surprisingly smooth; the roast is more subdued and gives way to a semi-sweet malty backbone with notes of chocolate. Not bad.

Pint at the Eccentric Cafe on 3/30/13. Clear reddish brown pour with a thick tan head. Aroma of caramel malt, chocolate and roast. Malty sweet flavor with some caramel and chocolate before a dank finish.

On tap: The aroma consists moderate-heavy milk chocolate, light roast, and espresso. Itís a dark brown with some orange highlights and a small tan head. The flavor starts with moderate-heavy milk chocolate. There is some light plum/grape in the background. The finish has light roast, coffee, and some alcohol. Itís medium bodied with mild carbonation and a somewhat soft mouthfeel. Overall, a solid Baltic Porter with a strong chocolate presence.

On tap at Eccentric Cafť. Clear ruby brown with a small layer of tan foam resting on top. Aroma is dark and fruity with dates, figs, raisons, malt and a hint of booze. Taste is up front dark fruit with raisons, dates, toffee and light tannins. Sweet throughout.

On tap at the Eccentric Cafe. Deep milk chocolate brown body, tight medium buff head. Aroma of chocolate, hot alcohol, and spices. Chocolate and roasted malts greet the palate, which has a strange spiciness and an unpleasant lingering acrid bitterness. Chalky, with a touch of licorice. After several sips, some charred brown sugar elements became apparent, but didnít mesh well with the chocolate and surprisingly prickly alcohol. This is simply a case of the parts not working together, and the beer misses the mark as a Baltic Porter. A huge disappointment.

Decent Baltic porter very bitter with a slight malty smokey backbone. Boozy bite. Pours deep reddish brown with a clear head. Had at bells. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Sample at Eccentric. Pours a deep brown with aromas of coffee grounds and topsoil. Oddly Iím not picking up that over ripe plum aroma I associate with the style. Flavor is Baltic cloyingness with lots of dark sugar and that coffee ground edge. Even though this is different from almost every Baltic porter I have tried, I still donít care much for it. Sticky and sweet.
