Sampling at GABF - Light biscuity, slight citrus, fruity. Just ok. Light and fairly refreshing. Had no idea that it was a Kolsch when sampling, but in comparison to some other Kolsch brews I’ve rated, this one compares favorably.

GABF 2013. One of the biggest surprises of GABF. Pours a clear yellow appearance with a white head. Slightly spicy, herbal, a bit floral hoppy, toasted, grainy aroma. Nice body - solid toasted malts - cracker along with some light lemon and floral notes. Super easy drinker that I really hope to try again.

Pint draught at source, Bell’s Eccentric Café, 31/viii/13. Like a golden lager with a sweetish grain, Franconian nose, solid body, dry, peppery hops. Drinkable if underwhelming compared to their more confident basic portfolio.

Draft at GABF. Pours clear yellow with white head. Nose and taste of malt, pine, lemongrass and light wheat. Lighter medium body.

Had on-tap at Bell’s Eccentric Cafe. This is described as a "German Golden Ale", but that style isn’t available to choose from on this site. I got this as a part of my paddle after seeing it on draft and having never heard of it before. Like most adjunct lagers, this beer has no head or lacing whatsoever. Deep, golden yellow color. It’s crystal clear. Taking a smell, it smells like an adjunct lager... I’m not sure if this is supposed to be, but it just smelled of corn, and tasted of it as well. The taste, as mentioned, is a lot of corniness. There is even a bit of a lime (?) note, which makes me liken this beer to an improved Dos Equis. Is this supposed to taste like an adjunct? I’m not sure, but the consensus at my table was that it tasted like one. Is it bad? No, not if you don’t *hate* corn flavors in your beer. I wasn’t expecting this, but I turned out to enjoy it for what I [think] it is. An upgraded Dos Equis.

Draft to taster at Eccentric Cafe. Looks solid; a transparent gold with thin white lacing. Smells and tastes doughy and pleasantly skunky with an average mouthfeel. A decent Kolsch.

On tap at Eccentric. Coyotehunter messed up the name and erased the Bells when he added the beer, so send him all your hate mail. Body is clear light gold and aromas are heavy with rubbing alcohol or something hot with some banana and lemon grass. Flavor is watery with a lot of grain to it and a hint of lemon. Pretty blah and directionless in my book.

Pretty pale clear yellow pour with miniscule white suds. Pale sour malt scent, very PBR-y with a hint of cinnamon. Full bodied lager taste, roasty and carmel malt backbone that really gives a euro complexity. Some very pert bitter flavor at the finish. Finish is dry, mouth feel is foamy. Definitely alright, not my favorite but a good light selection.

Sampled at GABF 2013. Pours a clear gold with some frothy, white head. Mild honey nose, lemon, grass, wheat chaff. Sweet flavor, light honey, light spice, yeast. Clean finish. Odd, but also drinkable.

On draft. Not a huge fan of Kolsch, but it was an easy drinker. Very subtle beer. Well balanced.
