12oz bottle 5/8/10 (Courtesy of FlandersNed)-45° in Snifter-Pours a murky brownish amber with a dect off white head. Aroma of dried fruit, toffee, caramel, and sweetness. Taste of the same with a bit more sweetness. Would of love to have tried this fresh. It seems a bit bland until the end of the mouthful. This full bodied brew is still pretty tasty.

Not sure what this was like fresh but it seems like it held up pretty well. Slightly oxidized with a touch of cardboard but it almost sort of adds to the nice creamy caramel sweetness. Hazy amber brown color. Aroma is sweet with a touch of fruit too. Flavor is malty, sweet, touch of roasted malts and fruit. Very complex with lots going on. More like a barleywine. Nice.

Sampled at RBWG 2010, I believe courtesy yobdoog. Pours a cloudy blood orange. The aroma is super malty sweet with some graininess and the flavor is also very sweet like an old ale or a mild barleywine. Awesome stuff, but also old!

Pours a Dark chestnut brown color with golden yellowish brown hues and a thin yellowish beige head that quickly dissipates into a thin lasting ring. Minimal lacing.
Leathery malt aroma with hints of caramel, toffee, alcohol and dark fruit.
Soft carbonation with slight oxizidation. With sligt alcohol sweetness/heat, toffee, caramel and dark fruit. This beer has aged nicely with the alcohol being well masked and overall has really mellowed out.

Bottle. Pours a hazy amber toned body with an off white head. Dark fruity, malty and sweet with chewy fruit esters reminiscent of raisins. Dark malts, chewy toffee, soy and some maple notes. A lighter oxidation surprisingly tolerable almost works well, oddly enough.

bottle thanks to yobdoog, pours hazy amber with a medium light brown head. Sweet malty aroma with a little bit of funk of apple and brown sugar. Very sweet hot cocoa and cream with caramel malt and notes of burn sugar in the finish. This stuff still rocks.

Huge thanks to Walleye who traded me this. A generous and lopsided trade for sure. Poured a light caramel color with a nice carbonation hiss upon opening. Aroma was rich caramel and wheat. Taste was similar, with more wheat characteristics coming through. Not sure what this tasted like originally, but shows little oxidation and still has excellent carbonation. Little bit watered down at this point, but nothing offensive here, and still quite enjoyable. Glad I could try 4k and 9k together.

orangish pour. Fruity aroma with some sweet sugary notes and caramel. Flavor is fruity and sweet, has held up ok, but isnt my favorite.

Pours a dirty yellow orange with no real head to speak of. Aroma is of caramel, tea and oranges. Flavor is a bit weak of mango and citrus, and a bit buttery and sugary. Palate is a little sticky. Considering the age, this beer has held up pretty well. It would have been nice to try it fairly fresh for comparison.
