Pours a hazy brown with a tanned head. Extremely sweet. Aromas of malts, alcohol, and some nuts. Strong sugary effect in the back of the throat. VERY full bodied. Nice and complex finish with dry notes of malts, alcohol and nuts.

(Bottle 35,5 cl) Pours a hazy, dark amber with a creamy, beige head. Vinous and very aromatic nose. Extremely full-bodied with notes of overripe fruit. Hoppy finish. 270106

Rich, deep pruney, Port-like aroma, deep cloudy auburn, with a delicious chewy pine-sappy flavor, waves of toffee and grapefruit rind with piney hops rolling over the malt for a long bitter hoppy finish. Deliciously warming, every sip at every slowly rising temperature is a little different...provocative.

Thanks to robertsreality for this beer. Poured a murky mahogany with a cramy light tan head. Aroma of grapes, cinnamon, grapefruit hops. Taste is sweet up front with vinous notes, some caramel. Strong pine and grapefruit hops dominate quickly past the intial sweetness, lingering long after the sweetness fades. Body is thick, slick and creamy. One of the best hoppy barley wines I’ve had.

12oz bottle via trade with Jazz88 - Thanks Eric! - Pours a dark copper color with a short tan head that stays pretty well and laces the sides of the snifter. Aroma is malty. Big caramel notes and a touch of pine. Flavor is a nice caramel backbone with toffee notes and a very pleasant pine mix also a bit of raisin in there. Palate can best be described as buttery smooth. Full bodied.. Alcohol is completely covered but warming behind the malts. Very good stuff and a great way to finish the night...

Thanks Jeremy for letting me try this on Christmas day!! Pours a deep, dark mahagony color with a thin lacing head. Malty caramel aroma. Very sweet! Almost candy like. Sweet, caramel taste in your mouth. Smooth, a hint of some hops. Warm. Easy to drink since the alcohol presence is hidden. A very well done beer.

Last bottle opened at the MKE YeHa!, most everyone had gone or gone to bead. Thanks to whomever brought this one as it was a great nightcap. Buttery, pine hop aroma with lots of rich caramel malt, very chewy and malty even in the aroma. Medium, mahogan brown with a thin head. Nice, smooth flavor with caramel malt and tons of old piney hop flavor that is just so nice and buttery. Oily texture with a full body. I love this stuff!

Deep brown in color, nose is sweet but not as much as a year ago. Still huge in your mouth, sweet but not cloying with a decent amount of hops on the finish, ageing nicely.
