Served in a 13 oz. tulip on tap @ Crane Alley in Urbana, IL. Thanks, Jon. Flowery sweet citrus-like aroma coming from a khaki head atop a reddish brown body. Thick and warming in the mouth, it stays with you! Flavor is smoke, alcohol, plum fruitlike barleywine characteristics. Mellow and assertive all at once. Age has done this one well! Unique beer experience that has me looking forward to Batch 7000.

Cloudy brown/black with a brown head. Delicious strong, sweet nose with burnt caramel, alcohol, plums. Rich, sweet flavor with a strong, nutty bitterness, and a bit of a fruitcake vibe. Would love to lay some down to cut the bitterness.

12 oz. bottle. Transparent dark ruby colour with a thin creamy and frothy tan head. Big toffee, and dark fruit aroma with light alcohol notes. Candied fruit and toffee flavours with an alcohol and grapefruit pithy bitter finish. Full bodied, chewy but smooth mouthfeel. Thanks Slikwily!

Amazing caramel notes and a wonderful sweet kick to this great barleywine. Thanks to footbalm for scoring this gem. Beautiful golden brown pour, some hop flavor, but it was mild. Overall great brew, wish I could score some more!

Poured amber with a light brown head. The aroma was malty and the alcohol made its presence known. Flavor starts out with strong hops that lead to a malty orange/tea taste. Dry finish, chewy mouthful with a good amount of hops in the end.

Nice looking rudy brown colour, with small head and interesting lacing. Aroma of dark fruits mostly. The taste...well, i wonder if the bottle is bad because there is an odd sour/bittnerness right in the middle. Ignoring that, there is a real nice malty taste. It’s nice and chewy. overall it’s pretty good. But i will have to get another bottle to sample.

I drank it colder then I should have, fridge temp!! Ok it was a great English Style Barley Wine being heavy on the malt and easy on the hops.It was dark brown with plenty of chill haze the head was fluffy and tan.Aromas of Dark fruit (Raisins ,Plums) toffee , and bito’honey with some alcohol.I was warming it between my hands while swirling.Malty goodness , caramel some hops on the tongue well balanced.Very full mouthfeel It might be slightly overcarbonated but a great beer.

On tap at BW3’s, downtown Indianapolis. Feb 2005. Dark brown with little head. It has a smooth mellow presence of malt and dark fruits like raisin and plum. There are definate barley wine characteristics in this beer. The flavor is round with brown sugar/molasses and a roasted malt playing with a moderate alcohol presence. A very nice beer, I’ll have to pull one out of my cellar in a couple more months and re-rate. 7-3-8-4-17=3.9 Rerate 2/19/06 A bottle that has been in my cellar since I bought my first 6 pack. Pours nicely, greaty creamy head. Round, chocolage, boosey, piney, earthy, maple, oak, vineous, tannin, molassses, dark fruits, walnuts, sweet, liqourice, alcohol. Those are what I got from this wonderful barley wine. Everything in this beer works so well together. The aroma is really what you expect an aged barley wine to smell like. There is a mix of piney bitterness, sweet bready malts, and a bit of alcohol. Any harsh bitterness that may have existed when it was young has mellowed and come into perfect ballance with the great malt sweetness and the welcoming alcohol tang. A little over two years old and this beer is top notch.
