Sammy (3934), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Apr 23, 2004 Updated: Aug 28, 2004hazy brown color. Spicy citrus sweet. Heavy alcohol bt discussed by smooth flavor. Unpasteurized. madsberg (4875), Søborg, Denmark Apr 20, 2004 Bottled: Unclear reddish coloured. Brown/yellowish head. Very hoppy aroma. Sweetish and fruity. Reminds me a little of vanilla. Very intense and fantastic. Flavour is all about hops. Sweet with notes of caramel. Has a very thick mouthfeel. The bitterness in the end is intense but is well rounded by a nice alcaholbite. Thanks to Raindog for trading this beer. Superstarov (6), Midland, Michigan, USA does not count Apr 19, 2004 I loved the is beer, and wish they made it forever. great aroma, slightly cloudy appearance, good taste and good, strong barley wine finish. If you liek barley wines as much as I do, you'll love batch 6000. Hildigöltur (5109), København, Denmark Apr 19, 2004 Cloudy dark reddish brown. Rockinout (945), Kent, Ohio, USA Apr 18, 2004 Very dark reddish brown caramel color. Big, thick, sweet dark fruits, wood, toffee, then some drying hops kick in. Goblincat (356), Westland, Michigan, USA Apr 16, 2004 Pours a deep red with a nice long lasting tan head. Smells of cotton candy, raisins, and malt. Extremely smooth and quite thick, tasting of barley, caramel, chocolate, wood, and hops. Lightly bitter aftertaste with a noticable alcohol bite. I think I may store the other five and try them every six months to see how well it ages. Very good. BierBauch (639), Cape Coral Waterfront Wonderland, Florida, USA Apr 1, 2004 Thanks to Raindog for the sample. Poured slowly into my snifter and produced a thin layer of film on top or a dark cherry red body. Sweet malt aroma with plums, toffy and caramel. A bit of alcohol also noticable. Body is full and smooth. Too much alcohol in the flavor. Very sweet and malty with a slight bitterness. Not one of my favorite barley wines. Maybe should have aged this one. Bov (5403), Bienne, Switzerland Apr 1, 2004 very dark reddish-brown colour, little foam, strong aroma of plums and caramel with notes of licorice and alcohol, full-bodied, sweet and very oily, very bitter, the finish is very long and dry with alcohol and fruity notes and a deep floral hoppiness - a powerful and greatly balanced mixture - thanks to Clarkvv for this wonderful beer
