(Brickskeller Bells 10/03) Body is fairly clear red-brown. Aroma is medium sweet -- grapefruit and root beer. Taste is medium sweet, grapefruit, chocolaet. Medium full body that hides the alcohol pretty well. Expect it to improve on aging.

12oz bottles acquired in trades with beerhandy & brewbandit. Poured a deeper reddish / brown color with a small sized off white head. Aromas of dark fruits, caramel, nuts, toffee, and some nuttiness. Tastes of dark fruits, caramel, chocoalte, woody, and roasted malts. Light alcohol in the finish. This one is aging nicely!

Sticky yellowish good-sized foam. Murky copper body. Abundant yeast floaties. Straightforward hoppy aroma unlike third coast old ale. Columbus and centennial hops perhaps?. Comes out orangey, sweaty, grapefruity and green leaves alike. Still, there’s a huge thick malt presence in there with suggestions of maple and honey. Taste is reminiscent of a less aggressive old crustacean. Pineapple flavours.Very bitter, almost extreme. Very warming, almost hot. Grassy, piney… complex hoppiness. Body is thick, malty, creamy, velvety, generous. This will definitely improve with some age on it. Thanks Psychprof.

Bottle... This beer rocks!... Hazy, oxidized copper-colored ale. Small, creamy, lightly -tanned head. Excellent retention and lacing. Nose of raisins, chocolate, alcohol and citrusy/fruity hops. Extremely malty flavor. Well-bittered... amazingly unsweet. Full-bodied with chocolate, alcohol and fruity notes. Creamy mouthfeel and lively carbonation. Lengthy, bitter, astringent finish. Great, ass-kickin’ barley wine!
