Draft; Map Room, Chicago. Ah, Batch #6000 for my beer #200. I like the symmetry. I like the beer. It's a devil in a glass, and it's barely aged yet. Big alcohol smack in barley wine fashion. Smoky, thick, and with a big whisky nose. And plenty hops, too.

Bottle. Nothing like a 13 year old barley wine! Aroma is only slightly oxidized. Huge caramel, brown sugar and dark fruit. Tastes a little more stale and papery. Moderately sweet with loads of dark fruit. I bet I wouldíve loved this fresh. Still pretty good considering the age.

12 oz bottle shared with Jason and Brian. The pour is a dark amber brown with a light tan head that falls down quickly with a couple spots of lace. The aroma is surprisingly hoppy. There is a good malt present but the hops are surprisingly strong. Good cherry and fruits. The flavor is excellent. There is a nice hoppiness and a strong fruit character. There is a light booze and and strong malt and caramel. The mouth feel is a little thin but well carbonated. There is a slick finish and it's quick fading. Good barley wine for sure ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

12 oz. bottle, sent from Glouglouburp (thanks a lot, Dany), pours a deep dark mahogany with a small beige / tan head. Nose brings out rich notes of caramel, dark fruits and some light oxidation - which is no surprise given the age of this thing. Flavour is rich and deep, with loads of caramel, dark dried fruits, brown sugar, and alcohol. Extremely well-balanced, without any cloying sweetness. This is very bold and decadent. Not really any oxidation on this at all - very surprising, given this is 10+ years old! This sure has stood the test of time. Wonderful stuff.

Bottle kindly shared by gunnar. Hazy deep ruby orange body with a light brown rim. Heavy honey and prune juice reduction on the nose. Smooth, fruity, salty. Thick, full bodied and alco warm. Long roasted raisin finish. K

Shared 355 ml bottle at local tasting. Very dark brown colour, low tan head. Intense aroma of molasses and oak. Very sweet flavour, loads of molasses, alcohol and oak, some bitterness. Impressive, but not really my cup of tea.

Nest siste flaske pŚ dette RB-treffet, og hvilken lykke! Dette er bare lekkert pŚ alle mŚter, og med en linedansers eleganse. For mye av det gode kan fort bli guddommelig.

Bottle that I never thought I would get thanks deyholla! Pours a very dark brown with no head. Aroma is malts, dark fruits and caramel. Warm finish, nice malts and some caramel. Very nice, I know this is aged and that made it better. So awesome.
