Black pour with no head, disel thickness with a typical cherry, vanilla and roasted nuts and malts all over. Bitter coffee and tobacco with a sweet and salty finish. A nice rendition of an imperial.. almost no alcohol hints until your done. rotoguru (93), Fort Collins, Colorado, USA
| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 9/20 | Feb 21, 2007 Updated: Jun 17, 2007Summary: Just because it’s limited doesn’t mean it’s good, which is really too bad. Pours black with brown head that thins to a yellowish tinge collar that laces the glass with an oily appearance. Aroma is a tad scotch/ethyl alcohol with a mildly sweet chocolate and black malts. Flavor is nothing like the nose, instead delivering a mouthful of intense burnt coffee, burnt caramel, licorice, and alcohol. The smooth body is offset by the harsh flavor that lingers. I was sorely not impressed and would suggest pretty much any other imperial. Luckily this will not be made again and better luck for Batch 8000. Author’s note: I’ve poked fun at another beer rater before for a beer we’ve disagreed on, however that rater and I actually agree on this one... MiP (9055), Sønderborg, Denmark

| 4.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 17/20 | Feb 18, 2007 Thanks to Badgerben for sharing. This an excellent imperial stout in the English style. Aroma has some alcohol but not overwhelming at all. There is also malt, fruit, and a port aroma. Thick, black, and syrup-like on the palate. Sweet, fruity malt with chocolate, but I am happy to perceive no coffee in this beer. More port, and some tobacco in the finish. joebrew (608), Farewell Minny; Hello Puyallup, Washington, USA

Thanks a ton to Badgerben for sharing his bottle with us. Nice chocolate, tobacco, pepper, and port. Nice sweet tawny port profile of raisens, chocolate, caramel, and aother malt profiles. A nice hop balance to the sweet that helps the finish cling for forever. Wow this beer was amazing and I can’t wait to try this in time again. This beer is like Hardy’ s with more drinkability. Thanks to faro99 for hooking me up with a bottle I can age. marcus (1853), Sacramento, California, USA
| 4.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 19/20 | Feb 14, 2007 12oz bottle from Artusory. This dark brown ale poured with a beautiful fluffy tan head, eliciting a fruit and malt aroma. The first sip uncorks a plethora of flavors - bitter chocolate, sweet plums, roasted malt but, surprisingly, not alcohol. The finish is a satisfying bitterness that beckons another sip. A fitting beeer for my 500th review. Thanks Ryan.
