Thank you TAR for this bottle. Full mouthfeel, almost chewy. Some creaminess, but not a really creamy beer. Taste is mostly of cocoa and a bit of raisin. Roasted malt bitterness along with a dash of hops. No alcohol presence, which is shocking for 12%. This is a tasty beer, but not extremely exciting.

Couple of different samples now. Dark brown pour with moderate head - decent lacing. Rich malty aroma with molasses, chocolate, and roasty goodness, and laced with noticable alcohol. Lots of rich sweet caramel malt flavors, with chocolate and molasses and some dark fruity notes. Thick, with alcohol very upfront. Can’t wait to see how this ages. Well done.

Pours as black as the devil’s soul. With a thin reddish tan head that bubles away rather quick. Nose is instantly alcoholic overwhelming even, with hints of dark chocolate and bitter fruit. Flavor on the other hand is almost without alcohol presence entirerly. Very thick rich dark chocolate bitterness overwhelms as a subtle cherry like sweetness trys to make an appearance, but is quickly overwhelmed. Good overall, but it’s no expedition stout. ;)

12 oz bottle. Black pour with a medium brown head that disapates to a lacy tan. Rich aroma with lots of oak, dark chocolate, molasses, dates/figs, and light alcohol. Rich and oily mouthfeel, almost chewy. Hints of coffe, roasted malt, chocolate, figs and ALCOHOL. A truly grand brew that unfortunaly, I will probably never enjoy again. A big thanks go out to Hopscotch for this one.

Raspberries, chocolate, dried fruit, coffee, butterscotch. Loads of butterscotch, and caramel with chocolate. Very nice dark lord-esque body.

bottle - Wow, this is a big imperial stout that slams your palate with thick, intense roast malty goodness and a biting hops finish. It pours thick and black, with a moderate head that fades to thin and then hangs around a long time and leaves considerable lacing. I didn’t notice the high alcohol in the flavor much like others have mentioned, but it could be because I had this brew with a meal. I ordered the Batch 7k without knowing what style of beer it was. Regardless, it’s very good and very strong.

Pours black, with a brown head. Aromas are roasted malt, coffee, dark fruit, and vanilla. Flavors are coffee, roasted malt, chocolate, hops, and dark fruit. Silky, heavy palate. Aging this one should be interesting.

Can any other word be used except, "intense!" Burnt, charred, scorched, immolated malted grains. Chocolate and molasses/dried fruits like dates and raisins and figs...all of which are first macerated (Let me save you the trouble of looking that one up, Joe..."to liquify by steeping") and then flame-scorched to bring out their earthiness. This is one weird and intimidating impy. Bourbon and oak and smoke all pop-up when you least expect them, to dance a moment on your tongue and then fade away to be replaced with burnt brown sugar and charcoal briquettes. Huge and not very coy alcohol slap in each swallow...but I’m not complaining. Very rich creamy...no, vinous texture, almost like an exotic aperitif. Huge hop bite in the long lingering finish, just so the alcohol doesn’t get lonely, I guess.
