12 oz. bottle courtesy of jjpm74. Pours black with a tightly packed reddish tan head. The aroma is vinous with dark fruits, molassess, vanilla, caramel malt, and some light roast. The flavor is dark chocolate, caramel, molasses, roasted, vanilla, earthy, fruity, and slightly smokey. This is thick and viscous from the beginning. I enjoyed every second of this beer and wish I had more. Aroma, flavor, and mouthfeel are all top notch. This was a perfect way to celebrate number 600. Thanks John!

Thanks to my good friend Alldaydrinker for this special privilage. Pours out a visibly viscous black colour with a very late forming brown head that fades quickly to a thin film clinging to the edge of my glass. The is exploding with potent notes of anise, caramel, dates and molasses. There are subtler notes smoke, chocolate and vanilla. The flavour is perfectly balanced for an impy stout. Initial flavours of rich caramel, chocolate, dates and coffee tranasition into flavours of smoke, tobacco, anise, raisins and alcohol. The finish leaves a lingering of roasted malt and coffee with an extremely long residence time. This evolves as it warms, unveiling complexities unnoticed intially. The texture is silky smooth with gentle, yet ample carbonation, and a viscosity that coats tooth and gum. Its rich, yet dry in the finish and not overly sweet. Also, rather than harming the integrity of the beer, the booze complements the beers character. OUSTANDING!

My 300th rating & a big shout out to BBB63 for supplying me with this nectar of the Gods. 12 oz. bottle served in a snifter. Pours a jet black with a small brown head. This stuff is thick and oily. It coats my snifter like motor oil. Nose is like rum cake & rum filled cherries. Mouthfeel is thick, heavy & oily. The flavor was heavy on malts with flavors of molasses, dark chocolate, dark fruits and rum. This was an absolutely delicious brew.

drank this beer after a year in the cellar. a dark black and rouge color is tiooped by a thick brown head . and we could actually see a tiny, glossy and shiny layer of alcohol at the top. cocoa powder, bitter coffee, and smoke dominate the nose. the front is alcohol, followed by a cocoa and soy sauce flavor that finishes smokey. thick, creamy and bitter smoke fill the mouth. tastes of worchestireshire sauce, smoked ham, and brazil nuts are there as well. quite a treat. thanks jeff

Bottle, courtesy blankboy. Big thanks for shipping this one just because! Pours like old motor oil. Thick, caramel-colored head, with plenty of lacing. Big caramel aroma, and licorice. Lots of chocolate, and molasses, maple syrup, pine...some interesting tar-like qualities. Roasted nuts, too. Expecting a mighty fine tasting beer. Big, BIG roasted coffee flavor, with an infusion of delicious caramel. Toffee, warming chocolate. Bitter, roasted finish. Just fantastic. Oily body, with an oozing body that sticks to the mouth like taffy; extremely chewable. Dangerously drinkable at 12%. Just a really good beer, would love to try this in a few years.

#100 BIG BEER! A much appreciated gift from bbb63. consumed fresh, within 21 hours of Mike handing it to me. Basically an opaque black with a centimeter tan head. Wow! Aroma of licorice, molasses, dark chocolate, figs, roasted malt, vanilla, raisins, cream, and bourbon. Very nice and subtle. Flavor is cocoa, dark chocolate, bitter, licorice, roasted malts. Fuck yeah. Beautiful beer. Better than expected. Sticky and oily mouthfeel with a dry finish. Man, this everything that a stout should be. Big complex aromas and flavors, nice body, drinkable, nothing overpowering. Quite the exceptional beer. Thanks Mike. I owe you some beers! I’m happy.

Bottles courtesy of retorp. Poured a dark black, glass staining black. Huge roast malt nose. Some liquorice, coffee and dark fruit tartness. Boozey! Oily, thick mouthfeel. Flavors were bitter, charred malt, cocoa and some slight plum. Alchoholic and very warming! Excellent beer. Aged well.

Pours super dark with a very small bubbly brown head. Tons of roasted coffee, chocolate, and more of both of those. The alcohol is very well enough to enjoy the other flavors involved. I wish it came in a bigger bottle, because I never wanted the glass to end! Can’t wait to try this one again!
