Black, with a dense brown head. Really appealing smokey, coffee aroma, with some notes of maybe cinnamon and fruit in the background. Very smooth and rich - Some notes of coffee and chocolate, of course, but also some tart flavors, too - cherry, maybe? As it warms, a rich flavor come out, I’m gonna say pumpernickel bread? And some woodsy, earthy flavors, too. Really tasty. Thanks, Secret Santa!

Low profile choco brown head. Retention is short lived but rouses back up easily. Raspberries and chocolate aromas leap out immediately as does a bit of bandaid, though it,s kind of interesting, not a bad thing somehow. Blackola colored brew. Body is just large, aggresive, not creamy or as silky as expected but still kool. Big and roasty chocolate flavors, black patent (?) with a massive hop bill. C-hops galore make their presence known as this puppy warms, blending well with the over the top malt bill.12% alc. ? Fairly dry finish is lucious and fruity. A ager indeed. Man, Bells can brew some schweet Impys ! Many thanks to Saint Sprinkle(Secret Santa) for this bottle and one to age. Also like to thank Mr. Facto for another bottle to stick on my shelf for future consumption.

Bottle thanks to ogglethorp. Pour dark with small brown head. A lot of dried fruit, chocolate and malt on the nose. Big chocolate and prunes in the flavor. Nice bit of hops on the finish. It is so smooth hard to notice the 12%.

dark tan head that laces up like a new pair of adidas, black body, sweet syrupy nose with a hint of mocha, dense body, roasty bitter finish, alcohol is burly but pretty well masked, flavor is sweet and rich, piney and slightly acidic, dark chocolate

Large dark chocolate malts and roasted fruits .If you like dark chocolate, this is it. Slightest hint of alcohol and dry spicy hops are apparent in the finish. Somewhat warming on the way down. This beer is really smooth and not overpowering . Nice lacing on the glass, a good looking beer. Best flavor seems to come approaching room temperature. Looking forward to aging this for awhile and trying it again later.

Raspberries, chocolate, dried fruit, coffee, butterscotch. Loads of butterscotch, and caramel with chocolate. Very nice dark lord-esque body.

Pours black, with a brown head. Aromas are roasted malt, coffee, dark fruit, and vanilla. Flavors are coffee, roasted malt, chocolate, hops, and dark fruit. Silky, heavy palate. Aging this one should be interesting.

Black with a huge long lasting brownisgrey frothy head. From a distance there is cherries and coffee in the nose and close up the nose is heavy with alcohol and coffee beans and some barley. The taste is very strong alcohol and very bitter with coffee and malts. The bitter really sticks around and on exhalation coats the throat and tickles the nose. This bitter is sharp and is so sharp that at first it actually is sweet just as something so cold actually feels wet initially. Very thick and full. All around this is a monster brew.
