Bottle. Had first one almost 3 years ago, and last one now. I remember the first one taking an hour to drink. I spilled a drop on my sock and the spot never completely faded in the wash in two years. That should tell you all you need to know about the depth of blackness in both color and flavor of this beer. Intensely flavored and mind-numbingly viscous. Actually feels like you are drinking evil. Good evil.

Bottle shared by Ryan..big thanks! Pours dark brown. Strong bourbon aroma and a little nutty. Taste same with nice dry roasty finish. Aged really well. Really good....so glad I got to try this.

Black, small tan head. Big roasty anise aroma. Flavor is full of anise, with a lot of chocolate.

Bottle from Ryan - thanks! Wow, this is crazy old. Great to try! Molasses and soy. Rich all around. Dark pour with a slick palate. Very nice!

"Definitely showed some signs of age, but has a lot of pleasant qualities as well. Bitter chocolate, slight licorice and coffee, and a charred smokiness in the aroma and flavor. Still pretty smooth, though the alcohol shows. Bitter hops and raisins in the finish. Long time wish list surprise."

Bottle shared with my wife. Pours thick, nearly black, mocha head with a few chunks in the latter half. Aroma: surprisingly muted. There’s cardboard and dark fruit. Chocolate covered caramels that have sat in the box too long. Taste: cola; warmth; chocolate; age; molasses; hint of baking spice. Palate: Full- body; oily texture. Overall: this is intense, hard to drink fast, but surprisingly good for such an old beer. Can only imagine what it would have been like a few years ago. But, I didn’t have a bottle a few years ago, and if the dude I got it from had drunk it I wouldn’t have it now, and I’m glad to have this so I can muse about what it would have been in its day.

355ml bottle. Just such an old small bottle. Oxidized to all hell, minty mouthwash, cardboard, sat there for 3 min with a few oz of this beer. ITs finished never trade for it.

Tasted at RBSG grand tasting. 12oz bottle. Very dark brown, near black color. Thin ring of khaki head. Ring of light brown head. Dots of lace. Dark fruit, some dark chocolate, musty light oxidation notes in the nose. Light spice in the flavor, some tobacco. Soy sauce. Bigger bitter taste, moderate sweet, light alcohol warmth. Bigger body, light slick. Smooth, kind of lighter carbonation. Roasty malt, heavier roast. Pretty cool, impressive fun stuff to try. Glad to have found this!

bottleshare thanks to Beechner224. Slightly oxidized nose, a mix of paper and dried fruit and sherry. Pours a nearly flat dark brown to black with ruby highlights. Taste is a very sweet chocolate and booze. Also oxidized in the taste. Weird vanilla and barrel character to it. Not much stout character at all. Ok.
