mgoy (343), Oak Brook, Illinois, USA Mar 2, 2008 Bells Batch 8000 Ale is a fantastic Belgian Steong Ale. Like the description says, this beer would fit in a category by itself as an Imperial/Double Belgian Wit Beer.
Smooth taste of orange and corriander, this tastes as a very clean and concentrated Wit Beer. hotstuff (3175), Indiana, USA Mar 1, 2008 Bottle. Small white head that was mostly lasting, no lacing, no carbonation noted and a yellow golden hue. Nose was coriander, sweet, and orange peel. Flavor was orange peel, sweet, citrus, and honey. Medium body. Quaffable brew, ABV not overly obvious and a good beer worthy of a try. Snojerk321 (1917), San Diego, California, USA Feb 29, 2008 12oz bottle acquired in trade with Beachbum25. Poured a clear ambient orange with a very subtle with head, some spotty lacing was left on the tulip. Nose was fairly sweet with hints of citrus fruits . Flavor was much of the same......a good brew. jzzbassman (838), New Albany, Mississippi, USA Feb 28, 2008 Bottle courtesy of Styles. Just lovely and different, getting much better as it warms to cellar temp. Clear orange that strangely turned cloudy after about 4 minutes. Aroma is very typical wit. Flavor starts similarly, but just goes way over the top, although in an enjoyable way. Very sweet and sugary as opposed to the citric refreshment of a normal wit turns this another direction. Warming with a big peach note followed by coriander and orange. thooper41 (384), Oregon, USA Feb 23, 2008 120z bottle thanks to kramer17801: pours golden brown with white head. aroma light malt and some spices didnt even look what style this was and i was going to guess a belgian tripel. very close to westmalle. flavor malty with spices cant even tell its made in in the US. Svesse (2597), Hässelby, Sweden Feb 20, 2008 (Bottle, Oliver Twist, Stockholm) Pale amber/copper colour with brief, white head. Fruity, spicy nose with orange peel, honey and coriander. Fruity taste with notes of candy sugar, caramel, orange, mandarin and spicy hints of coriander in a sweet and fiery finish. Medium body, slightly too sweet. A decent brew, but far from their best offerings. DougShoemaker (2855), Toronto, Canada Feb 20, 2008 Aroma has a big malty start, caramel, hints of a strong ale, and some decent hops follow through, cloudy apricot, small custard head. Taste is a bitter pitfruit, red plums, apricots, caramel and toffee. Full bodied, well balanced, tongue tingling and the alcohol is hidden. Lovely offering! Thank You Radek. PhillyBeer2112 (2084), Orange Park, Florida, USA Feb 18, 2008 Initially yeasty aroma, and there was a pretty solid dollop of yeast in the bottle though most of it remained there. Light breadiness plus a hint of phenols, and the coriander spiciness hiding in there too. Big sugary flavor, grainy and wheaty with a spicy and yeasty background. Finish is fizzy, sweet, lightly herbal, lightly citric, with a warming alcoholic presence. A bit heavy and cloying. Certainly weird combining these big flavors with witbier elements, and I can’t say I’m overly crazy about it. Hazy copper color with smallish head.
