BückDich (4791), McCall, Idaho, USA Feb 7, 2008 Bottle: Pours a hazy bronze/orange color with a nice puffy white head. The aroma is very strong with belgian esters, lots of orange and coriander, yeast and light pilsnery malt. The flavor is tart, zesty and acidic, but has a sweetness and carbonation level unlike a belgian, so it actually balances out quite well. Some darker malt flavors like fig and bread come through, but it’s mostly fruit and spice. Light sweet citrusy tail with heavy alcohol and a smooth soft tail. Good! Thanks Jake. sleepylopes (313), New York, USA Feb 6, 2008 pours deep dirty blond. nose of tropical fruit, smoked vanilla and bourbon. nice strong carbonation profile. beerinmarch (2781), Alabama, USA Feb 4, 2008 Imperial wit? The thought makes me think of a tripel, but more estery and a ton more spicy. Pours cloudy orange with a small white head. Big spicy nose, yeast, orange peel, and corriander. Doughy and sweet on the palate, but not that over the top candy and perfumy sweetness that some wits get, more well rounded. Alcohol is apparent, but well hidden considering a % wit, which hits tripel abv. decaturstevo (1971), decatur, Tennessee, USA Feb 4, 2008 A hazed ornag epour with an off white head. Corriander dominates the nose with light spice as well. A flavor that reminds me of orange peels soaked in alcohol. A light breadiness as well. A hint of a twangy bitter. Solid palate and mouthfeel that is almost creamy. A very solid beer that I enjoyed. I would not be surprised if it had arrived with a cork and wire. thedm (3833), Fort Wayne, Indiana, USA Feb 1, 2008 This bottled brew from a bottle shop poured a small sized head of white colored bubbles that were quickly diminishing and left behind a hazy yellow-orange colored body and a fair lacing. The aroma was hoppy floral and coriander. The mouth feel was tingly at the start and at the finish. The flavor contained notes of hops dough wheat coriander and floral. A decent one that I would consider buying again. Mangino (1027), Mississippi, USA Feb 1, 2008 Bottle- Hazy golden color. Nose is lots of wheat yeast, spices. Body is full of spice and esters. Mouthcoating and slightly tart, very nice brew. omhper (12155), Stockholm, Sweden Jan 28, 2008 Bottled at Oliver Twist, Stockholm. Clear golden, average head. Heavy coriander and banana aroma. Sweet, dense and full bodied. Notes of candy sugar and lemon grass, but most of all a concentrated flavour of orange marmelade. Powerful, but a bit sticky. Never quite figured why to make a fat ass witbier, but I quite like the beer. doubleo (1096), San Diego, California, USA Jan 25, 2008 Pours a cloudy orange color with a thinnish white head that hangs around for a bit. Not a huge nose to it. I get some citrus and some of the spices along with the that malty Belgian style beer smell. Tastes more malty than anything else. I get a little bit of the spice on the finish. Nice and sweet. Pretty crisp palate for a 9.0 brew. Coats the mouth just a bit. This brew reminds me alot of Stone’s VE04 which was awesome, so get some.
