milljam (562), Norman, Oklahoma, USA Jan 18, 2008 This the first beer I’ve had from Bells’ Batch series. Very fruity on the nose....citrus, some banana, orange zest....good spice with corriander being the most prevalent. Taste is very similar to the aroma...hints of citrus and spice..very well balanced..not too sweet or bitter. Not quite like a Belgian, but there are some similarities. Very drinkable and enjoyable. unclemattie (2370), Georgia, USA Jan 15, 2008 12oz bottle. Coriander, Orange Peel, and Paradise. medium orange color. Aroma of orange and breadiness. Flavor of oranges. Rich malt, lots of coriander. Very reminiscent of 5 Seasons North Venus (5SN is better). Super bueno. DrnkMcDermott (1832), Downers Grove, Illinois, USA Jan 14, 2008 Bottled. Rating #1,400!! Sure smells like a wit, but looks more like an abbey dubbel. Dark orange body under a thin head. Not wit hazy, but swirling with the usual galaxy of Bell floaties. Taste is indeed of a slightly spiced up dubbel. Coriander is there, and the orange. But I say the malt has its own orangey character, too, with caramel malts lording it over the wheat base. Kind of rough right now, despite the label’s suggestion, this might settle with a little age. May need to test this against the 2006 Wheat Love. Found this at Tenuta’s in Kenosha, Wisc. Eyedrinkale (3209), Astoria, New York, USA Jan 14, 2008 On tap at Ashleys. Cloudy golden with a so-so head. Taste has some burnt orange, white ash and mild hop bite. Probably the tamest of the K series tnat I’ve had. ante (2904), Stockholm, Sweden Jan 11, 2008 Bottled at Oliver Twist, Stockholm. Hazy orange colour with a small disappearing white foam. fruity aroma of oranges, mild flowers, coriander and honey. Full flavour of oranges, apricots, herbs, wheat and coriander. finishes sweet and warming of wheat, tangerine, coriander and alcohol. Smooth full body. pepsican (884), The Student Ghetto, Iowa, USA Jan 9, 2008 Pours copper with a thin white head that stuck around until the end. Heavy wheat in the nose. Flavor of spices, wheat, lemon, orange citrus, and bananas. Finishes slightly carbonated, small alcohol burn as well. Good. Nate (2533), Indiana, Pennsylvania, USA Jan 9, 2008 Bottle courtesy of Naka. Mild funky sweet notes, honey and orange blossom, mild spicy notes. Profile of a tripel in the nose, sweet and musky, but not as wild as some of the ones from Belgium. Cloudy orange-amber, with thin off-white head and minimal lacing. Medium body with medium carbonation, light fizz and some alcohol warming. Starts sweet, with honey and orange peel, orange frangrance, light spicy character, and candi sugar. Sweetness lasts throughout, with some decent bittering and spicy character coming in to finish. The hops are still not enough to diminish the sweetness of this beer, and you’re left with a sticky sweet but chalky bitter after that remains. Ends up just a bit watery-thin. Nice beer, though. GregClow (2493), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Jan 7, 2008 Bottle via trade with piscator34. Deep golden-amber with a lot of haze and a few little floaty bits. Big wit/saison aroma - quite yeasty and spicey, with appetising hints of orange and honey. Full mouthfeel. Flavour is like a spiced honey-wheat bread, with a really nice coriander character as well, and a pleasant lingering yeastiness in the finish. Quite nice.
