presario (2953), Calgary, Alberta, Canada Dec 20, 2007 Light head on dirty orange.Lightly sour partly buttery aroma. Dusty buttery flavour. Some spices but does not even measure up to a normal Hoegaarden. Perhaps not as fresh as it should be. dalekliz (546), San Diego, California, USA Dec 19, 2007 Bottle. Rich, slightly opaque amber color. Very light bubbly head that dissipates quickly. Aroma of hops, oranges, and spices. Intensely wheaty flavor with strong citrus notes and coriander. A hint of banana. Bit of an alcohol bite and lingering spices and fruit. Powerful and tasty. yobdoog (1425), Woodridge NY, New York, USA Dec 19, 2007 Definitely a lot of spices going on here. Oranges, whole, coriander and some earthy sweetness. Dark orange brown w/ not much head. Balnced taste of bitterness and sweetness and spices. hershiser2 (902), Charlottesville, Virginia, USA Dec 18, 2007 Bottle. Cloudy amber with a large white head. Sweet alcohol in the nose, with peach and other fruit. Flavor is alcohol, banana, and other fruit. bu11zeye (5430), Frisco, Texas, USA Dec 18, 2007 (Bottle) Pours a cloudy orange body with a spare white head. Aroma of orange peel, coriander, florals, banana, clove, and paradise seed. Flavor of wheat, honey, orange peel, banana, coriander, and more citrus. hopdog (5527), Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA Dec 17, 2007 12oz bottle. Poured a medium and hazy orange color with a small sized head. Aromas of yeast, citrus, and spices. Orange peels. Tastes of citrus, spices, and fruity. Naka (524), Indiana, Pennsylvania, USA Dec 16, 2007 Pours an amber/tangerine color with very little head. A beautiful color, but the lack of head really takes away from the overall presentation. Nose has some tropical fruit, clove, and alcohol. Good spicy flavor that goes well with the fruit notes. I agree with ElGaucho about the passion fruit in the palate. I also agree that this is remarkably smooth for the high ABV. ElGaucho (1730), Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA Dec 14, 2007 Bottle in trade with Dukefan. Passion Fruit and orange peel are the two most prominent scents. Unique, fresh, tropical aroma. Hazy peach body with a lasting, light, off-white head that leaves nice, artistic lace. Plentiful visible carbonation. Orange peel and coriander are evident in the flavor, although passion fruit not so much. This is a unique beer; fresh, crisp and invigorating. Slaps you in the face a little bit, but, as MilkmanDan is fond of saying, in a good way. A very good beer that’s a quick drinker, and amazingly thirst quenching for a 9% ABV brew. No, this isn’t the big Dark Lord clone monster that Batch 7000 was, but my fellow Ratebeerians, you must think outside the box with this one.
