pizzabeer (6), USA does not count Dec 14, 2007 Actually found this to be a pretty average wheat beer. Nothing really exciting. I’m guessing that this one has been sitting around for a while & is not being given a fair chance. Will probably use the other 5 bottles for Chicken & Fish marinade. $2.00 per bottle is a good price for a marinade & this beer has all of the components that should make my chicken taste great and less filling dpjuart (670), Indiana, Pennsylvania, USA Dec 12, 2007 (200) 12 oz. bottle, early Christmas present from ’Naka. Pours hazy gold with a touch of amber. Head was small and white, quickly disapating. Nose is spicy, mainly clove with some banana and alcohol. Wheat flavor, lots of clove and spice, some fruit, banana and raisin. Very dry finish, with some alcohol and a whole bunch of warmth. Pretty decent after in breathes for a bit. Drinkable, but in moderation. wmubronco1992 (176), Coldwater, Michigan, USA Dec 11, 2007 Bottle. White frothy head. Spicy, fruity aroma. Dark cloudy (unfiltered) orange color. Flavor is of wheat with not so subtle hints of orange and banana. This beer was absolutely beautiful. Honestly when I poured it I just stared at it in awe. The flavor to me actually didn’t quite match the amazing appearance, however it still is a tremendous beer. Extremely drinkable. This was kind of like Oberon on steriods. If this were to replace Oberon it would be the talk of the midwest, but we’d all go broke. At $13.50 for a 6 pack it was pricy, but worth it since it is a one time batch. fordest (1954), Santee/San Diego, California, USA Dec 6, 2007 GABF. One of my favorites at the fest. Fruity and sweet on the aromas. More fruit on the flavor. Touches of spice and wheat. Good jetzler (622), oklahoma city, Oklahoma, USA Dec 4, 2007 Bottle, Big aroma lots of fruit, a bit of citrus, yeast is fairly dominate, slight alcohol notes. Pours with a small thin head. Tastes quite a bit like a triple, finishes dry. Thanks to MrRomero for this brew. SpringsLicker (2041), Tennessee, USA Dec 3, 2007 Thanks to Suttree for this one!
Pours a deep honey gold, clear until the yeast shot with a frothy off-white head.
The aroma somewhat resembles a homemade apple pie just before it’s put into the oven to bake. Spices, apples, cold yeasty dough. Some banana and clove come on as it warms.
Light bodied, spritzy.
Starts lightly sweet with a finish that’s softly tart with just a tiny bit of dryness from the spices.
Very nice beer. rayg1 (432), Ft. Mill, South Carolina, USA Dec 2, 2007 Pours out a bright orange color with a thin white head. Aroma is full of yeast, banana, clove, and pineapple. The aroma is sweet and spicy and really amazing. Taste is again more yeast and spice, perhaps a bit on the doughy side with a touch of honey as well. However for a style such as this I feel this may be over hopped. I say this because there is a noticable bitterness at the end of the brew almost takes away from the experience. Still, overall, this is a good beer and I would galdly have one again if I could get my hands on one. jefcon (997), Arlington, Virginia, USA Dec 1, 2007 Citrus, banana and spice dominate the aromas from this really aggressive Bell’s special issue. Lots of fruits on the palate and some viscosity from the alcohol.
