avaia (1), USA does not count Nov 26, 2007 Mmm, yeast. It’s a shame this one isn’t around to stay for good. Alcohol is only apparent near the finish, if you can keep the glass down long enough. MrRomero (1934), Nolanville, Texas, USA Nov 24, 2007 12 oz bottle: poured muddy looking orange with very little head. Yeasty, coriander nose. Flavor has a decent hop note with some residual sweetness present. Full flavored but I really didn’t care too much for this. mhelgason (495), Charlotte, North Carolina, USA Nov 24, 2007 bottle. no except for ring around trappist glass. cloudy orange body. bubble gum yeasts, corriander, some spicyness in the aroma. flavor is sweet with a touch of aceticness and a tiny bit of bitterness. alcohol is well hidden. moderate finish duration. enjoyable stuff. alafito (334), tijuana, Mexico Nov 23, 2007 Its like a strong witbier with the orange, coriander and honey tastes doubled, lots of alcohol tasted but not so much felt.
Has a bit of apricot aftertaste with some sourdough and lemony bitternes. Above average brew, with a bit too much alcohol for it to be a winner. sunevdj (1765), Copenhagen OE, Denmark Nov 23, 2007 Big thanks to drewbeerme for trading me this one. Pours a light amber with an off-white head and lacings. Sweet and fruity with the genuine Belgian yeast flavors. Abricot aromas with hints of honey. Full doughy mouthfeel. Medium carbonation. Hides alcohol well, except in the late finish. Quite witty ;-) BossHossBikes (147), Tennessee, USA Nov 20, 2007 Bottle. The first pour is a clear orange with a pillowy pale head that dissipates rather quickly. The aroma is a mix between a dry spice and a tangy citrus. Orange rind and coriander seem to be the primary aromas with the orange rind being slightly dominant. In the flavour, the spices first start off being a little more dominant but as the brew warms, the citrus and spice flavours start to level out. As with the aroma, the orange rind is dominant, but more-so in the flavour. The finish is slightly dry and bread-y. After pouring in the yeast, the beer becomes cloudy. The aroma doesn’t seem to change. The flavour, however, goes through a slight change. The distinct orange rind flavour as well as the spices becomes a little more subdued as the brew seems to inherit a slightly more citrus quality. Spice is still dominant, though. The finish also becomes a little more dry and quite a bit more bitter. I’m enjoying this. mnurda (434), Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada Nov 19, 2007 Orangey gol in colour. Bold and spicy from start to finish. High level of spice. I believe I am developing a fondness for Belgian ales. Thanks to Piscator for the sample. RblWthACoz (963), Brooklyn, New York, USA Nov 18, 2007 Pours a slightly foggy gold. Minimal head. Nose is very nice indeed. Thick dough and a lot of spices. Flavor is great. The flavor profile is great. High, but nice, level of spice. Great yeasty funk with a mild sugar. Just seems exactly right to me. Smooth on the tongue. A very nice BSA indeed.
