pintsize (1042), Austin, Texas, USA Nov 17, 2007 11-11-07 bottle. Cloudy orange juice color. Smells like a Wit Bier - garbage that was attempted to be masked by orange peels. Coats the tongue with a heavy dose of that dreadful "wit" taste. That taste just lingers on the tongue and won’t seem to go away. This is not my style - just awful to me. TheJester (694), Peterborough, Ontario, Canada Nov 17, 2007 (Thanks to radiomgb.) 355 mL bottle. Hazy copper-orange with a ring of head. The aroma is quite strong; orange, spice, alcohol, and wheat beer yeast. Appealing. The taste is quite powerful, with the sweet malt, orange, and alcohol battling for dominance. (The alcohol fades as the beer warms.) Not much finish, other than a lingering sweetness on the tongue. Body is quite full, and carbonation is quite low. Not exactly refreshing, but interesting enough. obguthr (986), Poquoson, Virginia, USA Nov 17, 2007 Lemon cream and nutmeg aroma. Cloudy amber, thinnish head. Medium body, cloves, orange, and orange peel. A little soapy. Subdued coriander finish which gets a little rancid during warming for some reason. Alcohol is not the least bit noticeable. 00cobraR (1096), Greensboro, North Carolina, USA Nov 17, 2007 Pours out a cloudy orange color. Looks like a darker orange juice. Aroma has a ton of corriander and orange peel. the orange is the most dominating scent. Flavor was the same. when it was cold, this thing was rough, but as it warmed, the orange peel was subdued and the beer became much more pleasnt to drink. Belgian strong?? I think not. You dont have to call it an imperial wit. Just call it a wit. dalepryor (172), Paducah, Kentucky, USA Nov 15, 2007 poured from bottle 11-08-07. wonderfully hoppy with a hint of wheat and orange. pours pumpkin orange, very hazy with lasting beige head. drinks very smooth and subtle. love this beer, too bad it’s only brewed once mephisto (1144), Taiwan Nov 14, 2007 never a fan of imperial wheat and believe there is a reason this style hasn’t seen much action: wheat doesn’t have the body to justify an ’imperial’ prefix. to bells credit, this is as nice as it gets, but stilll it’s not their greatest success. good that they only brew this once. chicagodri (1020), Chicago, Illinois, USA Nov 14, 2007 I like a lot of Bell’s brews, but I wasn’t a fan of this beer. The best part of the beer was that it smelled delicious. It had a heavy alcohol flavor and it was jammed packed with spice. In all fairness, I hate coriander, so that doesn’t help this beer. Wish I could have more Bells 7000 instead :) hopson (591), Williamsville, New York, USA Nov 14, 2007 whoa- big time belgian scent- correinder, some spices, seeds of paradise. pepper and some bannanas. I was very surprised at the taste and mouthfeel. Very thick, not at all as dry as I was expecting with a slight sourness at the backend. Some serious booze there as well, and warms you up. Not a repeat purchase.
