biggenius29 (155), Hamilton, Michigan, USA Sep 25, 2007 12oz bottle poured into a Trappist glass. Pours orange with a small white fizzy head that fades away quickly leaving pretty poor lacing. Looking through the glass there are quite a bit of Co2 bubbles floating up along with a hazy body with small particles. The aroma is pretty spicy, coriander is up front followed by a citrusy orangy aroma. The flavor is coriander at first followed by some orange, there is a spicy bitterness that lingers for a while. In the citrus flavor there is some apple and pineapple notes as well. The body is medium with a creamy texture and lively carbonation. hophead75 (1945), Boonton, New Jersey, USA Sep 25, 2007 12 oz. bottle from capones. Pours a very hazy orange in color. Aroma is spicy with coriander, pepper, belgian yeast, and citrus. Taste is yeasty, wheat, spices- coriander and lgihtly peppery. A good deal of citrus and orange peel in the taste. Medium to full bodied and a bit alcoholic. Very nice. cellardoor (45), St. Louis, Missouri, USA Sep 25, 2007 Updated: Sep 27, 2007Pours with a brighter amber and thinner head. Has a great spice and fruity aroma. The taste is medium to full bodied with stronger spice notes, more notably corriander and orange peel. Very belgian in style and reminds me of a Chouffe. bitbucket (2026), Kirkland, Washington, USA Sep 24, 2007 Bottle courtesy after4ever. Pours opaque amber with a thin white head. Sour wheat and spice aroma. Medium body and medium carbonation. Tastes a bit of apples, with fruit and spice. Semi-dry finish. pet3rman (206), Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA Sep 24, 2007 Pours orange with a medium fluffy white head. Aroma of wheat, orange and alcohol. Taste is that of orange, honey and alcohol. medium body. Alcohol warmth going down. Pretty good. The "Belgian Strong Ale" is a good description, as it combines the nose and taste of a belgian with the kick of a strong ale. jcr (1137), Jasper, Indiana, USA Sep 24, 2007 While I like sweet Belgian style ales, this one’s main character is sweet.ness Light orange body with small, off-white head. Sweet orange and spice aroma. Notes of lemon, banana and alcohol. The flavor is heavily sweet and moderately dry. The medium body and low carbonation provide a creamy mouthfeel, though the watery texture prevents it from attaining Allagash-type silkiness. Finish is alcohol-hot with lingering spice flavors. Appreciate the effort, but this one falls short of expectations for a Batch series beer. Suttree (2702), Knoxville, Tennessee, USA Sep 24, 2007 Updated: May 14, 2009Orange, with a thin white head. Nice aroma of Wheat, citrus (orange), coriander and spruce. Seems like a turbo-charged Belgian White. Nice fruity, spicy notes throughout and good dose on piney flavors, too. It says "Drink Fresh", but I could probably stand up to a little aging pretty well. after4ever (2711), Brier, Washington, USA Sep 24, 2007 12-oz. Thanks, FranksnBeans! Pours cloudy dark orange with paler highlights. Moussy, instantly disappearing head. Big perfumey nose of cloves and wheat and maybe a bit of candied lemon. Big, slightly gooey body with some grain to it and plenty of softly fizzy carb. Thick swirling mid-palate. Plenty of varied flavors: wheat, lemon, cloves, spice, banana. Tidy subdued finish.
