Uglyradio (775), Greenville, South Carolina, USA Sep 23, 2007 Pours a hazy copper color with a small white head. Has a lot of yeast sediment in the bottom of the glass. Nice spicy aroma of coriander, yeast, hops, and honey. It has the typical Wit beer flavors just much thicker and stronger. Really spicy and well balanced. Excellent beer. TheCheeseMan (538), Saint Cloud, Florida, USA Sep 23, 2007 Updated: Sep 25, 2007Not sure what to expect, but the pour was typically wit, head vanished way too rapidly. Citrus and pie spices (cinnamon, cloves and nutmeg) seem to dominate, with some coriander. Flavor is big citrus, more of a perfumed blossom flavor as opposed to a sweet fruit. Bit of a let down, but glad to have tried it. taffurs888 (121), Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA Sep 23, 2007 Smell of coriander, and orange peel. Tasted very light, with a big taste of alcohol. Slight taste of orange with big bite of coriander. madscotsman (147), Fairview Heights, Illinois, USA Sep 23, 2007 Poured a golden orange in color with medium white head. Had a somewhat sweet aroma with some citrus in there. Had some vanilla traits along with oranges in the palate and flavor. The 9% abv was hardly noticed with a great finish. Thanks to fellow ratebeer member mkofron for splitting a six pack with me. jehoey (766), Shippensburg, Pennsylvania, USA Sep 23, 2007 aroma was full and striking... notes of spices, sweet malt, alcohol, and belgian funk all permeate from this brew. pours a golden orange at first, but becomes delightfully cloudy and looks like a wit upon pouring some of the sediment in. I actually drank it with and without the sediment and would definitely suggest the sediment. Without the sediment this is very much a triple. not very clody with notes of spice, alcohol, and belgian yeast, but upon pouring in the sediment the elements of a wit beer come to life, the suble spicing comes to life, the gout de belge, becomes even stronger and rounds out into a very complex drink. Wheat also adds a subtle sournessThe extra abv still lends triple type flavors, minus the driness of some triples that produce that leather flavor. palate was at first over carbonated, but evened out throughout its consumption. At first the carbonation was so abundent I was thinking I had trouble tasting it. This was a very lovely beer though. lumberjack (178), Michigan, USA Sep 23, 2007 Pours a thick unfiltered orange with a lasting foamy head. Aroma is very spicy and pleasant. Taste is of wheat, orange, apple, banana and coriander. 9% was well hidden. Very enjoyable overall. JasonG (700), Salt Lake City, Utah, USA Sep 22, 2007 12 oz bottle - pours a slightly hazy dark yellow color with small fluffy white head. Aroma is full of honey, coriander, white pepper, faint bananna, vanilla. Flavor has lightly kilned malts, coriander, bananna, pear, apple, faint citrusy hops, with a moderately sweet and slightly spicey finish. Very nice overall. Does spice well, definitely present, but not overwhelming, IMO. Immy (1912), Virginia Beach, Virginia, USA Sep 22, 2007 12 oz bottle. Hazy gold with a tight white head. Nose has lots of wheat, orange and coriander. Spicy flavor, clove and coriander, solid wheatiness. Light banana notes. Finishes a bit warm (not quite a burn). Solid brew.
