Commercial Description:
Batch 8000 is part of our commemorative series celebrating our progress with special brews. Our Batch 8000 is a special recipe to be brewed only once. It is a wheat ale spiced with Coriander, Orange Peel, and Paradise Seed. Best consumed fresh.
Editor’s Note. 9% is far above the abv range of a Belgian Wit Bier. Because we do not have the style "Imperial/Double Belgian Wit", this more closely fits as a Belgian Strong Ale.

While I like sweet Belgian style ales, this one’s main character is sweet.ness Light orange body with small, off-white head. Sweet orange and spice aroma. Notes of lemon, banana and alcohol. The flavor is heavily sweet and moderately dry. The medium body and low carbonation provide a creamy mouthfeel, though the watery texture prevents it from attaining Allagash-type silkiness. Finish is alcohol-hot with lingering spice flavors. Appreciate the effort, but this one falls short of expectations for a Batch series beer.

Orange, with a thin white head. Nice aroma of Wheat, citrus (orange), coriander and spruce. Seems like a turbo-charged Belgian White. Nice fruity, spicy notes throughout and good dose on piney flavors, too. It says "Drink Fresh", but I could probably stand up to a little aging pretty well.

12-oz. Thanks, FranksnBeans! Pours cloudy dark orange with paler highlights. Moussy, instantly disappearing head. Big perfumey nose of cloves and wheat and maybe a bit of candied lemon. Big, slightly gooey body with some grain to it and plenty of softly fizzy carb. Thick swirling mid-palate. Plenty of varied flavors: wheat, lemon, cloves, spice, banana. Tidy subdued finish.

Pours a hazy copper color with a small white head. Has a lot of yeast sediment in the bottom of the glass. Nice spicy aroma of coriander, yeast, hops, and honey. It has the typical Wit beer flavors just much thicker and stronger. Really spicy and well balanced. Excellent beer.

Not sure what to expect, but the pour was typically wit, head vanished way too rapidly. Citrus and pie spices (cinnamon, cloves and nutmeg) seem to dominate, with some coriander. Flavor is big citrus, more of a perfumed blossom flavor as opposed to a sweet fruit. Bit of a let down, but glad to have tried it.

Smell of coriander, and orange peel. Tasted very light, with a big taste of alcohol. Slight taste of orange with big bite of coriander.

Poured a golden orange in color with medium white head. Had a somewhat sweet aroma with some citrus in there. Had some vanilla traits along with oranges in the palate and flavor. The 9% abv was hardly noticed with a great finish. Thanks to fellow ratebeer member mkofron for splitting a six pack with me.

aroma was full and striking... notes of spices, sweet malt, alcohol, and belgian funk all permeate from this brew. pours a golden orange at first, but becomes delightfully cloudy and looks like a wit upon pouring some of the sediment in. I actually drank it with and without the sediment and would definitely suggest the sediment. Without the sediment this is very much a triple. not very clody with notes of spice, alcohol, and belgian yeast, but upon pouring in the sediment the elements of a wit beer come to life, the suble spicing comes to life, the gout de belge, becomes even stronger and rounds out into a very complex drink. Wheat also adds a subtle sournessThe extra abv still lends triple type flavors, minus the driness of some triples that produce that leather flavor. palate was at first over carbonated, but evened out throughout its consumption. At first the carbonation was so abundent I was thinking I had trouble tasting it. This was a very lovely beer though.
