Commercial Description:
Batch 8000 is part of our commemorative series celebrating our progress with special brews. Our Batch 8000 is a special recipe to be brewed only once. It is a wheat ale spiced with Coriander, Orange Peel, and Paradise Seed. Best consumed fresh.
Editor’s Note. 9% is far above the abv range of a Belgian Wit Bier. Because we do not have the style "Imperial/Double Belgian Wit", this more closely fits as a Belgian Strong Ale.

12oz. Bottle: Light to medium sweet aroma. Smells of spices, clove, pepper, banana, and sugary fruits. Poured orange with hints of brown and gold, with a small, off-white head that diminished. Cloudy. Opaque. Lightly sweet, lightly bitter flavor. Tastes of spices, cream, wheat, coriander, and some fruit. Medium body. Creamy, dry texture. Soft carbonation. Dry, spiced, finish. Overall, interesting, but not that tasty.

This is damn tasty. The flavors of a Wit and the body and finish of a heavier ale. I don’t know how to categorize it, but I really enjoyed this one. It is strong so maybe you have one and move on to something else.

Bottle - A cloudy orangish color with a very thin white head. huge amount of yeast in th e glass. Great aroma of spicy fruit and spice that you can smell 6 inches from the glass. A very spicy, bitter taste with a ton of fruit flavor. A bit too harsh. A real sipping beer.

This beer is a cloudy golden color with a medium off-white head that dissipates steadily. Aroma of citrus and coriander primarily, with other spices and yeast in the background. Medium-bodied and smooth with an array of spice and fruit flavors, as well as touches of vanilla, wheat and banana. The finish is sweetly spiced with a citrusy aftertaste. The 9% ABV is noticeable at times but does not detract from the experience at all. Probably the first Imperial Witbier I have tried, but I like it.

Bottle courtesy of crizay. Pours amber with a white head. Smells of coriander, ginger, lots of citrus and syrup. Taste is a mess of molasses and syrup and obverly cloying. This beer is in a state of disarray right now and a big let down. Guess I’ll cellar the other 5 bottles I have and see if it calms down a bit, but I’m not counting on it.

8/27/07: Bottle.
Spicy aroma: coriander & clove with other accents of wheat. Light copper body. No head, no lace. Flavors include honey & spice (especially cinnamon). Finish is long.

Bottle at a friends house, enjoyed with Lamb roast. Mostly clear with an amber golden color. Nose is strange with a mixed up blend of some spice and fresh cut hay. I was let down by this beer and am glad that I did not buya bunch like I did the last two "K" batches. Not much here, this beer is one of the reasons I stopped rating for a long time. What the heck do you say about something that gives you little to say???
