Commercial Description:
Batch 8000 is part of our commemorative series celebrating our progress with special brews. Our Batch 8000 is a special recipe to be brewed only once. It is a wheat ale spiced with Coriander, Orange Peel, and Paradise Seed. Best consumed fresh.
Editor’s Note. 9% is far above the abv range of a Belgian Wit Bier. Because we do not have the style "Imperial/Double Belgian Wit", this more closely fits as a Belgian Strong Ale.

It pours a deep yellow with a healthy white head. It smells of spiciness, orange peel, and slight hops; I swear I get some sour orange flavor. Flavor is very bitter orange/ lemon and it finish smoothly with some bitterness lingering to say good-bye. I like this beer.

12oz bottle from Willow Bend Liquors (Tampa, FL). Pours a nice dark copper color with a thin white head. Aroma is burnt sour orange, sweet caramel, toffee notes and yeasty bready notes. Flavor is sweet and malty with notes orange, bread, yeast and caramel. Medium body with a slightly hoppy finish. Nice ale.

Many thanks go out to alexsdad06 for a few of these. Pours burnt orange/tan with gold highlights, cloud as hell with a long lasting moderate white head. Looks nice to me. Aroma is on the dessert side of fruit and spice with a lot of orange, cinnemon, coriander, wheat, brown sugar, caramel, spiced Christmas bread, and a bit of banana, pear and fruitcake. All over the place. Tastes along a similar line, but more malty than the aroma with brown sugar, caramel, dessert breads and a bit of coriander tang, orange peel and rye. Finishes with a strong grain flavor on the throat and orange/spice on the tongue. Sort of a lingering tangy bitterness, but it’s not hoppy. Creamy texture and carbonation is fairly high; full bodied but shy of being sticky and viscous. Reminds me of Brasserie de Rocs Ambree a bit. Very good stuff IMO.

GABF 2007. An unclear yellow beer with a thin orangey head. The aroma is sweet and acidic with light notes of brettanomyces and farmhouse. The flavor is sweet, but also with a slight acidic edge and a light alcohol burn. The mouthfeel is smoothe and milk like.

Taste 7/8 Bottle. Looks: Nice cloudy orange/gold. Aroma: Wheat,grain/straw, orange. Taste: Unusual. Fruity with a wheat body. Mild alcohol, sweet and spicy. A little sour yeast. Nice one off, but not something I would drink often.

Orange gold pour with a short lived loose head. Lots of citrus and orange aroma with bold notes of clove, coriander, banana, alcohol, dried apricot, sweet bread, slight rum. Flavor has loads of sweet dried fruit, orange, coriander, and rum. Tastes like a well spiced Belgian Triple. Medium-full body with lots of carbonation.

Bells batch 8000 pours a cloudy orange with a wispy white head. Nice balance of fruit (orange peel, banana) toasted malt, and spice. Quite an adventurous take on the belgian style; the alcohol has quite a presence. Maybe overwhelming, but worth a try.

Cloudy amber with a mammoth off-white airy head that slowly dissipates. Aroma of orange peel, coriander, Belgian yeast, toasted malt, fruit and sugar. Taste of coriander, orange peel, fruit, alcohol, caramel and toasted malt. An imperial Witbier from Bells, who have easily become my favorite brewer. Shame they only brewed this one once since it’s solid and I hope to find more in my travels.
