As boozy at is black, Batch 9000 is something of an enigma. She has the shade and malt backbone of an imperial stout. Yet, she has the dark fruit character and brown sugar sweetness of a strong ale. Ah, to hell with it. This ale is rock solid, regardless of what it style it is. The brew is complex but easy on the palate. You’ll find yourself tasting it often - with different results each time.

A- Black color, dark liquid, tan head.
T- Molasses, caramel, coffee, soy, cocoa, plums, raisins, licorice, malty, smokey, charred.
P- Full body, average texture, average carbonation, robust finish.
O- A solid stout. I bet this only get’s better with age. Very robust flavors that would go nicely with a grilled steak. Deep and rich and very complex.

Tap at Michigan Winter Beer Festival - 22-Feb-2014. Near black. Big and boozy. Very malty and complex. It’s definitely rounded out a bit with age. Quite smooth for such a big beer.

It poured a clear dark brown color with a beige head. The aroma was of raisins, dried fruits, caramel, coffee and alcohol with a hint of vanilla. The taste was sweet maltiness, coffee, alcohol and molasses. The backbone was of raisins, caramel, vanilla and alcohol. Very well done.
