Like a barleywine again. 12.5% again. So SWEET. Thick and sweet mouthfeel. Carmel and malty sweetness. Grows on you. Drink ability increases as you drink.

Black as night pour with a small tan head. Aromas of roasted malt, molasses, dried fruits, and licorice. Taste is much the same, with a beautiful sweet finish. The abv is well hidden too. This was a really wonderful beer, one of the best imperial stouts Ive ever had. Its a shame they dont make this anymore.

Served on tap @ Pracna on Main. 5oz. pour. Lots going on in this brew. Heavy bourbon aroma in this pitch black concoction. Has tastes of chocolate, molasses, caramels, and the smokey deliciousness of the bourbon barrels. Drinks very smooth and the ABVs are well hidden. Easily one of my all time favorites.

Very deep color with thick carmel color head. Aroma let’s on to the molasses and licorice with some hint of alcohol. Tastes of chocolate and again the licorice/anise flavor comes through. A slightly bitter at the end and the finish is a little shorter than I would have expected. Kind of oily texture with a good bit of carbonation given the age. A very serious ale, it’s good, but not really my bag. I have a couple of bottles left if someone wants to hit me up with a trade.

Not quite black in the bottle, not much of a head either. Nose reminds me a lot of Abyss with the licorice and molasses. Nice honey presence. Sweet, spicy and bitter all at once, very sweet finish, nice bitterness and peppery spice, raisins and booziness.

Batch 9,000 I tried as a tasting. It smells like licorice and cherries. It is very high in alcohol percentage and reminds me a bit like rum.

Lots of licorice, black cherry, sasparilla, caramel, molasses, surprisingly no aftertaste- just ends.

This is absolutely fantastic, caramel, fruit, and beet notes. Very smooth, alittle alcohol.

Bottle shared by DalzAle, thanks Greg. Pours a thick black with a little head. Aroma and flavors of chocolate, roasted malts and other flavors. Sweet but not too sweet with incredible mouthfeel. Really solid.

Bottle thanks to changeup45. Poured from the bottle into a tulip. Vigorous pour brought out all the malty aromas. Smells of licorice and booze. I can tell this will be an enjoyable sipper. I wish I could try a BA version as well. Little head dissipates immediately. Great boozy aroma right before the sip. Some coffee in the flavor but mostly sweet fig/raisin up front. This is a delicious beer and a treat to have tasted. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
