Tap at The Oak. Pitch black pour with a 1 finger creamy head that fades slowly to a nice film and leaves perfect lacing. Great appearance. Aromas are currants, maple, dark chocolate, light roast, and light licorice. Tastes more roasty than I expected from the aroma. Lots of chocolate and roast, some charred wood, dark fruit, and coffee. A little nutty too. Medium to thick body. Smooth. Long aftertaste of char and licorice. Really like this even though it has more licorice than I usually care for.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Tap @ Bells: Dense brown color with a foamy, thin beige film perched on top. Aroma includes some milky cocoa, roasted woodsiness, burnt caramel, pine forward hoppage, a touch of maple, & some vague sweetness perhaps in the form of brown sugar? Lots of burnt & caramelized sugars in the flavor, molasses, & milk chocolate, though the sweetness is balanced & blunted by a big hop balance; lots of woody pine needles & bitter grapefruit peel. Hint of brown sugar towards the finish, ending with a little earthiness. I start picking up some faint maple syrup about halfway through the glass in the back-end. Really enjoyed this one!

On tap: The aroma consists of moderate maple, chocolate, molasses, and a touch of espresso. Itís a dark brown with no transparency and a small tan head that quickly fades to a minimal film outlined by a thin ring. There are some decent laced rings on the sides of the glass. The flavor starts with with moderate chocolate and lighter molasses. The finish has light-moderate maple syrup, light coffee, and nuts. Itís medium-full bodied with mild carbonation and a somewhat soft mouthfeel.

Bottle at Savor. Kudos to Bells for bringing unique offerings to Savor. They never disappoint. This poured pitch black with roast, chocolate, and coffee aromas. Taste was more of the same, but sightly astringent and finished dry. Very enjoyable.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
On tap at bells cafe. Black pour. Body is a bit thin for imperial sour but probably about right for 8.5%. Sweet an bitter. Didnt notice the honey or maple until I read the description but it is there maybe more honey than maple, honey probably gives it the sweetness.
