Draft… RBSG 2010… Clear yellow lager with a small, creamy, white head. Apparently, my sniffer isn’t smelling much on this night at HopCat, but I am able to barely pull some peppery hops and pale malt mash from my glass. Light-bodied and coarse with jazzy carbonation. The flavor leans toward the bitter side of balance. Not a lot to it – pale and pilsner malts and Czech hops and not much else. Crisp, refreshing, mildly bitter finish. Not up to snuff, even for a style I don’t tend to find very appealing.

Some decent happiness for a later but it ends up being a muddled taste. I was expecting more from bells as their hegemony is pretty tasty.

I guess if I’m gonna choke down a lager/pilsner - it should be Bell’s. Piss yellow pour, thin head. Stale bread in the nose warming to a urine biscuit odeur. This palate. Light sweet taste. There is actually a small bite of hops at the end, which is this beer’s only saving grace. And that it’s made by bell’s.

Let me preface this review by saying first of all, look at the style of beer this is before deciding its worth. This is a Lager. It is not meant to be some complex beer with underlying features for the seasoned beer veteran. Now to the review: the pour of this beer into a goblet produced a light yellow beer with a thin white head consistent with the style. Aroma was very similar to Grolsch Lager in that it was almost skunky but not quite. Taste does anything but follow the aroma in that it is a very pleasant, almost sweet taste. Not much of an aftertaste. All in all, a very good beer and one of the best in the style.

On tap at a Bells fest. This is simple but a bit coreny... as in corn. I was really hoping for a solid craft version of a genuine Czech Pils, but this is not it. Sorry fellas, but it is a simple and corn riddled Pale Lager. Still highly superior to Bud, Coors, etc. though.

Tap at Bells City TAP House event PBW10. Pours a lightly hazy golden amber with a medium bubbly white head. Aroma of noble hops, nice bready, lightly sweet malt. Flavor of bready malt with a touch of toasted malt and noble hop spiciness.

Bottle! Secret Santa was great this year!
Pours a golden brown, full body taste, straight forward on the taste and exactly what a lager should be!
