3.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 CanIHave4Beers (2000) - Des Moines, Iowa, USA - MAR 16, 2009
Batch 8742.
Pours pale golden with just the slightest haze. Has a nice fluffy white head with a small lace. Aroma is faint but has some lemon and graininess with just the faintest of spicy hops. Flavor is dry but fruity at the same time with hints of lemon zest and spicy Czech hops providing a playful bitterness. There is some bread dough and a nice little graininess. This is a wonderful pilsner and a very nice example of a classic Midwestern lager.
3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 WakeandBake (549) - Greenville, Michigan, USA - MAR 10, 2009
Bottle, batch #8654. A bright clear golden color with a medium fizzy white head, lots of carbonation going on here.A nice clean citrus hop and mild dry grain aroma,a little grassy, maybe some lemon. Flavor is very fresh and crisp, just mildly hoppy with some lemon, grass spice and kind of a light bready grain and then finishes slightly dry with just a bit more of the citrus zest . A nice easy drinker .
2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 soccer290 (200) - Highland Park, Illinois, USA - MAR 9, 2009
12 oz bottle. Figured I can drink it straight from the bottle, being a pilsener and all. Smells like a typical lager: yeast, malt, hop, all quite light. Difficult to see through the bottle, but you can tell it is a golden color with no head. Tastes of yeast and malt, with a light hop presence. Pretty smooth going down, but nothing specatcular at all. Was hoping for more from Bells, but whatever.

UPDATED: FEB 22, 2011 Location: 12 oz bottle, I didn’t buy it, but I believe it was purchased at Norm’s. (Labeled Bell’s Lager) Feb ’09, Updated 4/6/09
Aroma: Floral, citrus, earthy
Appearance: Clear gold, decent lacing
Flavor: Light floral sweetness, slight hop bitterness
Palate: Light, dry
Overall Impression:
Pretty standard, light, slightly floral Lager. Nothing special, but its drinkable. Honestly, I don’t see why this one would be considered too much better then your average Lager from a less quality brewery, perhaps it’s just the Bells rep...

Bottle. Pours with a little bit of head that quickly turns into just a white ring. Very pale. a little bit golden. Not great beer, but as far as lagers go, it was pretty good.
2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 BeerBunker (687) - Burbank, Illinois, USA - FEB 21, 2009
12oz bottle. Pours golden with a small white head which quickly becomes a white ring. Aroma is of malt, grain, and straw. Taste is of malt, straw, and grain. Has a slight hop bite underneath. Not offensive at all, but nothing spectacular either. Easy to put down though.
