Bottled as, Lager of The Lakes. Pours a pale gold with a thin foamy white head with great retention and a little lacing. Aroma is grassy, spicy, grainy malt, bread and a little citrus. Flavor is yeasty bread rolls at first, a little pepper, sweet grain, a little musty and some chalkiness. Finish is grassy and citrus hops and a little mineralish taste, very clean an crisp. Body is medium to thin and crisp.
2.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 7/20 Butters (2839) - Richmond, Virginia, USA - DEC 28, 2008
*Lager of the Lakes* bottle pours near clear yellow with minimal spotting of whitish head. Aroma is grassy hop and grain. Flavor is starchy, musty, and hugely grassy. A semi-sweetness on the tail end but finishes with a decent light bitterness. Didnt like this, but the bottle could be old.
3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 MrChopin (2065) - Baltimore, Maryland, USA - DEC 14, 2008
Transparent pale gold yet shimmering and effervescent with a bubbly white head. Nose is crisp and sweet, lots of bread and slight grass, citrus. Not much in the way of hops though. Flavor is sweet honey and lots of bready malt, but there is enough of a hop presence to balance with bitterness. Finish is a little too sweet. A little watery but also refreshing, I was expecting worse than this and am pleasantly surprised.
3.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 JohnQPublic (387) - Brooklyn, New York, USA - DEC 8, 2008
Bottle. Pours an effervescent pale yellow with a thin, creamy white cap. Nose is grassy, just a bit skunky. Taste is crisp and grassy, with a dry, cracker-like malt note. Leads to a light, lingering bitterness on the clean finish. Light body and light carbonation, but never watery. Nice pils.

not much on pilsners but as far as they go its one of the better. pours the standard pee yellow with a heavy head. taste hints at pepper which seperates this one from most. Medium hop flavor with hints of grass and malt with good carbonation and a sharp dry finish. Its Bells. How bad can it be?
2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20 GT2 (3428) - Washington DC, USA - DEC 5, 2008
Bottle: Lager of the Lakes. Pours a clear light yellow with a two-finger, fluffy white head. Aromas of Czech hops, lemongrass, sweet malt. Taste is similar- not too watery and very hoppy. Aftertaste is very dry and bitter like a good Czech pilsner.
2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 ansermadide (850) - Kyle, Texas, USA - DEC 4, 2008
Bell’s Lager of the Lakes at Zingermanns Roadhouse on November 28, 2008. Extremely light color, no detectable aroma - I have a bad nose. Flavor is extremely light, as is its body. A little bitter, reminds me of a Mexican lager.
