blkitson (125), Westerville, Ohio, USA Apr 30, 2008 Bought as Bell’s Lager of the Lakes. Pours a very nice golden color. The initial taste is very good but I think it has a very bitter aftertaste that does not taste good at all. Would not buy this beer myself
TURDFERGUSON (960), Carrboro, North Carolina, USA Jul 2, 2008 Bottle from Tj’s. Drank this last night. Tasted like a typical lager. A great lawnmower beer, but I doubt I will buy more of it when I can get PBR for much cheaper. No flaws detected and good thirst quencher. abcfan (127), USA Jun 30, 2008 Nothing special here. citrus aroma, clear yellow color. Slightly bitter throughout. Would be a decent summer beer. mattmc1973 (95), Sterling Heights, Michigan, USA Jun 28, 2008 12 oz bottle, pours a golden yellow, with foamy white head. Aroma of fresh barley and fresh, slightly bitter hops. Taste is of malt, grass, and hops, very quenching and crisp mouthfeel. A very nice lager, great for summer! durhambeer (291), Durham, North Carolina, USA Jun 28, 2008 Bottle from Sam’s in Durham. Poured a small white head on top of a bright light golden body. Went out on my porch for two minutes and the head had all but disappeared. Just a few thin wispy nimbus-like streaks floating atop and a microbubbles around the edges. That was a disappointment, though Bell’s has never carbonated their beers all that much. Anyway, to the smell and taste... minimal aroma: grain and minimal Saaz. A little metallic. Similar taste, though the hops hit hard and nicely bitter, ending crisply if a bit metallic. Solid summer quaff. notalush (1946), Rawn-kawn-kohma, New York, USA Jun 24, 2008 A standard but tasty lager - slightly buttery aroma - very smooth and moderately malty through the middle, back ended by noble hop bitterness - gets a little peppery and grassy in the finish - a solid beer.
