COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A smooth, toasty brown ale, Best Brown Ale is a mainstay in our fall & winter lineup. With hints of caramel and cocoa, the malt body has the depth to stand up to cool weather, but does not come across as heavy. This balancing act is aided by the generous use of American hops.

Good solid fall beer. Leave the pumpkin this and the pumpkin that for the pumpkin heads and settle in with an original fall beer style. An excellent interpretation of a brown and an easy drinking one at that. A little bit hoppier and a little less maltier than a lot of browns makes this very smooth, though I would have preferred a lil more malt. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Draft at Khyber Pass. Hazy deep copper brown with thin off-white foam. Feels a bit juicier and fruitier than expected for a brown ale. Blood oranges. Dates. Red plums and grapes. Strong hints of chocolate nibs in the mix. Ruby grapefruit cocoa. Reasonably full body. Hints of agave, tomato and pimiento. Not the best brown ale but quite interesting from the standard.

Pint Can. Delicious brown ale that goes down easy. Balanced with caramel malt and hops. A little chocolate and brown sugar as well. Great Fall beer!

Pours hazy chestnut brown with the slightest orange tinge. Light brown head ain't much and fades quickly to a rim. Aroma is toasted malts, a bit or caramel and some cocoa overtones. Creamy with moderate carbonation and short flavor profile. Taste is lightly toasted malts, a wee bit of caramel and cocoa and substantial hop bitterness that really overwhelms the finish and aftertaste. A good brown that would be better with amped malts.

Pours a dark brown color with a small white head that fades quickly and sticks to the side of the glass. Aroma is hazelnuts, caramel, and light chocolate. The taste is bitter cocoa, dark chocolate, and light caramel. Pretty good.

From a bottle, pours a dark brown-amber with a fairly large white head. Strong malt presence at the nose of caramel and roastedness. Couldn’t really detect much cocoa. Little hop presence. Body is fairly light with little bitterness to taste.

On tap poured into a stemmed pilsner glass. There’s a light, faint aroma of toasty caramel and a light citrus. It pours a hazy caramel brown with a touch of effervescence to it. It has a soft, creamy tan-orange head that reduces to a medium soft ring with a spattering of lace on the surface. It leaves behind stripes of fuzzy lace down the glass. The taste is a medium malty sweet, and a light bitterness. The medium, medium-light malty body has a thin, but creamy texture with a light, fuzzy, creamy carbonation. There are notes of chocolate syrup, cocao, caramel, and light nuts and citrus. The finish has a touch of spiciness and citrus peel to it and the aftertaste is light and has a bit of a clean, grass character to it.

Aromas of oak leaf, toast, caramel, subtle grass, hints of chocolate. Mostly clear red-brown, mostly lasting beige head. Initial chocolate notes, subtle dried fruit, bitter balanced finish. Light-medium bodied, earthy hops and toasty malts lingering after the finish.

Pours cloudy brownish amber color with tan head. Sweet, toasty caramel malt aroma with a hint of citrus. Caramel malt start with some toasted grain flavors. Finish is a little dry with light piney bitterness. Nice brew for the autumn.
