A smooth, toasty brown ale, Best Brown Ale is a mainstay in our fall & winter lineup. With hints of caramel and cocoa, the malt body has the depth to stand up to cool weather, but does not come across as heavy. This balancing act is aided by the generous use of American hops.

Caramel, crystal malt, and a sugary candy-like aroma. Body is a nice light brown, with and nicely forming head. Taste is a little fruity for a brown, with light caramel.

Ok here we have a rather hi-abv brown ale. The color of which is truly brown, with lots of little floaties. Aroma is very nutty, perhaps brazil nut or hazel nut -- itís one or another of those big nuts that look like a guyís "nuts" (testicles). Anyway, the flavor is ok but way too soft-malty shallow and sweet-alcohol tainted for me, perhaps because I come from a land that hardly knows the joys of autumn -- in MN we skip from late summer to early winter. Perhaps it is for this reason that my appreciation of this beer has taken a similar skip. Still an ok product.

Deep brown with thin white head. LIght malt aroma. RIch biscuit malt, lacked an abundance of nutty flavours. Tasted more like an amber to me, could have been an old bottle.

(Bottle) Pours an orangish-brown body with a medium-sized beige head. Aroma of toasted malt. Flavor of toffee, malt, and a hint of dark fruit. A bit bitter in the finish.

Dissapointing for one of my favorite brands. Just a bit to bitter for my taste. I get the idea but just do not like the overall result. Maybee because I also had some Oberon this evening.

Pours a light brown with a foamy slightly offwhite head. Aroma is sweet and slightly carmaley. Flavor is very sweet, a bit spicy, very yeasty, and a bit nutty. Overall, not a fan.

Pours light copper with a quick to dissipate offwhite head. A good caramel and slightly hazelnut aroma fills the air over this one. The flavor is caramel and nuts with a slight hop finish. It is sweet through and through and has a fair amount of body for a nutbrown. Very easy to drink and a decent nutbrown.

Bottled, rated live. Pours a great deep brown body with a thick head. Good malty beer smell. Beer has the usual suspended particles in Bellís light filtering. A great, sweet malt taste against which any hops donít stand a chance. All they can do is keep the toasty malt from sticking to the mouth. Nice dry finish, as claimed.

pours a copperish color w/ a small quickly dissapating off white head. A fair hop aroma w/ a bit of carmel malt and a nice nut/wood scent. Palate is a bit acidic w/ some nice carbonation and a pretty solid coating for a brown ale. Light nut/carmel/hop in the flavor w/ a floral finish fairly light. Overall the beer was a solid brown ale but paled in comparison to the big Imperial stout i had in front of it.

Great dark amber pour. Nice creamy head with some suspended particles. Yeast? Nice malty taste, with some subtle hops. It is very easy drinking with little bitterness and some nice subtle sweetness. Aroma is malty sweet with some citrus and pine. I truly enjoyed this beer!
