Smells of toasted malts, a little coffee-like. Very inviting.
Has a bit of an initial bite to it, fills the mouth with the taste of the toasted malts that were present in the scent.
Carbonation level might be a little high, but not enough to detract from the impact the beer makes on the palate. Goes down relatively smoothly, leaves a slightly dry aftertaste.
I could drink a few of these in a sitting. I don’t know that I would actively seek this brew out, but this is certainly not a bad beer.

Malt odors, nice brown cloudy color, with plenty of taste. Malts and nuts with just the right level of sweetness. Some esters near the finish but very faint, only a little lingering sweetness, thirst quenching webjedi (249), Silver Spring, Maryland, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Mar 27, 2008 Not bad, pours a thin 50% clear caramel head with large bubbles. Body is straight copper color (pipe). Definitely heavy on the malt, but not chewy. Still effervescent on the tongue. Generally pretty good. The aroma is sweet fruity combined with lighter notes of alcohol and prunes. The flavor is sweet malty with strong notes of fruit, leading to a dry bitter finish. The body is thin.
