3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle. Batch number 7738 bottled on 11-21-06, found this one in the celler, I am reading my notes from 12-26-06 and also I will note if the age has any role on this one. Pours a large off-white frothy and yet fizzy head. The lacing is fair and spotty with the head diminishing to a small white film. It pours nice and brown, as a brown ale should pour. Looking at it through the light it is hazy with tiny particals floating around in the glass. This one was bottle conditioned. The malts play a role in this one, the aroma is on the moderate side, but the flavor is deep toasted caramel, with hints of chocolate and a hint of coffee. The hops are light, maybe "flowery". The first taste is on the medium side which stays sweet as a very slight bitterness shines through. The finish lastes for a little while. The mouthfeel is medium with a creamy texture and a soft carbination. (notes as of 12-26-06)
After finding this one in the celler 3 1/2 months later, there isnt much change to it, the hop bitterness did fade. But it did develope a metallic finish to it.
Overall, this is a good beer, but there isnt anything that makes it stand out from the rest. A good session beer.

Bottle reviewed. Light brown pour. Modest head. Nice roasted aroma. Tastes of chocolate and cocoa, but mild. Nice long finish. Well crafted, would rebuy.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
upon opening the bottle i was greated with a strong aroma of fresh pizza dough. it poured a amber/brown a bit hazy with some sediment. as it warmed the aroma took on the sweet character of molasses and malts. the flavor was of unripe grapefruit, malts and spice. a slightly alcoholy finish. a decent beer.

3.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
(Tap) Deep tan/copper color. Good semi-rich flavor with nuts and caramel mixed into candy-like malty sweetness countered by a soft bitter resonance. Finishes well and leaves a desirable linger.

Bottle. Pours a medium brown, with a slight reddish hue. Visible sediment in suspension. Tan head, nice a frothy, good lacing. Nutty, malty aroma. Hoppy flavor, again like every Bells’ (non stout) there’s a fruity aftertaste.

3.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pours a medium brown with a thin off white head. Descent aroma of roasted nutty malts. Body is thin but not watery. Typical Brown ale. Smooth and refreshing. Not to thin nor too heavy. Good flavors of caramel and nuts. Enjoyable.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Dark cherry wood brown -- small off white head that laces wonderfully. Aroma is faint but there’s an earthy, roasted malt with some sweetness. Nutty flavor and the earthiness stays -- spicy, too, though I can’t put my finger right on it. Great carbonation -- bouncy without overwhelming the flavors.
