Subdued aroma and flavor, but very clean and refreshing. Not too heavy, but like all Bell’s beers, very satisfying.

Pours light brown. Nose of nuts, brown sugar, molasses and a hint of raisin. Thin taste of oak, malt, caramel and toast. Not very sweet or bitter; just an average brew.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
12oz bottle poured in pint glass. Color is an outstanding copper brown, head is thin and disappears quickly. Aroma is slightly roasty with nut and doughy undertones. Smells good but a little light. Taste is somewhat bitter and full of roasty, bready goodness. Texture and body is a little thin but finishes nicely. Solid beer for under $2 a bottle.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
12 oz bottle. Pours a deep amber with a 2 cm bubbly tan head that is slowly diminishing. Aroma of roasted malts and a hint of caramel. Initial flavor has malts with some caramel. Flavor closes with some nuttiness that is lasting. Some lacing, light carbonation, light on alcohol. Light to medium body. Drinkable and simple, good beer for non-craft beer drinkers.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Beige fluffy head with heavy lacing. Dark french roast coffee aroma, with hints of dark chocolate. Taste matching aroma with an oily smooth palate. Enjoyable brown all around, good for breaking people into darker beers.

I will keep this simple...the best american brown hands down.... It has hints of caramel and a faint smokiness. Oh so smooth and malty finish.
