A smooth, toasty brown ale, Best Brown Ale is a mainstay in our fall & winter lineup. With hints of caramel and cocoa, the malt body has the depth to stand up to cool weather, but does not come across as heavy. This balancing act is aided by the generous use of American hops.

Smells like malt, looks like malt, tastes like malt.... it must be malt. Not a bad brown ale, more interestingly complex than the traditional style.

Pours deep copper brown with a small tan head. Mild roasty aroma. A very smooth sweet and slightly roasted nuttiness. Thin and smooth on the palate. Good as this style goes.

Pours reddish brown with light tan head. Aroma of caramel, roasted malts and nuts. Flavor is mild with roasted malts and a light-burnt caramel finish. Very drinkable, would have again!

Bitter urine aroma, good flavor, but sour after taste, doesnít compare to commercial brown aleís like newcastle.

Popped at home and drunk with dinner. Aroma was of caramel, chocolate, and nicely roasted malt - yuuuuuummy. Appearance was a nice mahogany brown with a 1/2-finger head and a fairly good amount of lacing as I drank. Taste - Pleasantly bitter, not overpoweringly so. Bitterness of hops, dark roasted chocolate come through nice on this, with a sweet malt back-end that I really liked. Really good stuff. Palate - Melded very well with the food I was having - hamburgers and fries. Carbonated enough that it didnít stick to my palate, and yet heavy enough that it blended with the food I was having. Overall -- A great, great dinner beer. Really good to have with a nice solid burger, and balances very well.

Deep ruby amber color with a large frothy beige head. Aroma of roughly roasted caramel. Near medium body with frothy carbonation. Flavor is malt, light citrus, and some light treacle? Itís extremely tasty, and reminds of a lighter Belgian ale. Finishes more dry than not.

Best Brown Ale is the perfect name for this brew. Poured a beutiful rouge hued deep brown with a fine stick to your upper lip head. Carbonation is the key to this brown, it is forward and quickly diminishing in the mouth, making for an excellent flavor profile and an exceptional subtle nuttiness from the toasted malts. Slight caramel sweetness, and a bit creamy, and balanced beautifully with the hop character. A must drink.
