3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle. Brown color tinged with orange and a thick, short-lived, beige head. Aroma is a mix of fruit, caramel, and roasted grains. Smooth, creamy body with moderate carbonation. Sweet, caramel flavors with hints of citrus and slight bitterness. Really nice brown ale.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Dark brown color. Very nice lacing appears around the pint glass as the drink dissapears to the bottom of the glass. Smell is coffee/caramel with hints of yeast and sugary malts. Taste is coffee caramel bitterness with a fruity aftertaste like plum or grape. A bit too sugary for my taste.

4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
My second-favorite brown ale. This beer IS Fall in Michigan. Itís also got a suprising alchohol kick for a brown ale that isnít overpowering at all.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
This has a nice brown body and the smell is enticing. It has a good heavy malty aroma with some biscuit in there. The flavor is much the same, nice and malty with some biscuit and a good sweetness. There is no detectable hop flavor but some bitterness; just enough to balance. It has good mouthfeel, about medium but the body seems lighter than it should. All around a great example of a Brown Ale.

3.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
All kinds of caramel and toffee sweetness are present in the aroma; this smells just like October should. Pours a reddish amber rather than the brown I was expecting, one finger tan head dissipates quickly. Lots of suspended sediment is present (batch #9981 so I assume itís not left over from last year). Taste is a bit too sweet, caramel overload hits taste buds right away, followed by a nice nutty finish. Lively carbonation and light body, very smooth to drink.

4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Poured a deep mahogany with plenty of visible yeast. Smells malty but subdued and not overpowering. The taste agrees with the scent, nice nutty and sweet malt without being too much. The mouthfeel is slightly chewy and drinkability is fantastic. A great brown ale, and the best I've had yet.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours light brown with a medium sized head. Nothing real noteworthy in the aroma - a bit of malt, not much hops. Taste is of malt up front, then turns to a nuttly character. Palate is medium. This is one I would drink again.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
One of my favorite brown ales. Perfect for the cold nights when its released. Pairs better with food than most beers that I have had. If you like browns, try this one!

Although bells normally makes pretty good beer I was a bit disappointed in this one.
