A smooth, toasty brown ale, Best Brown Ale is a mainstay in our fall & winter lineup. With hints of caramel and cocoa, the malt body has the depth to stand up to cool weather, but does not come across as heavy. This balancing act is aided by the generous use of American hops.

Wonderful beer, truly smooth and great flavor. Itís almost like a light stout or porter beer. It has all of the notes of those types of beer, chocolate and coffee notes with a little roast but without the full bodied punch of a porter or a stout. A nice spicy, caramel finish rounds off this flavorful but subdued beer. Fantastic for this time of year, fall quickly becoming winter.

The deScription says "toasted" but my tongue says "burnt." Pours with a two inch, foamy head. Consistent flavor from top to bottom.

Initial smell almost fruity, definatly sweet. Nice off white head. Kind of nutty. The malty taste hangs with you for a while. A must try for anyone.

Bellís must be one of the most consistent craft breweries around. Iíve never met a Bellís beer that I didnít love, and this is no exception. The slightly weak aroma (nutty, with a hint of hops) belied the robust flavor. Cloudy red-brown in color, the taste begins with a nice hard shove of malty goodness, then finishes quickly with a clean cripsness I didnít see coming. This is truly a beer for any situation or season.

Bottle - 1F slightly tan head, medium brown in color. Little heavy in carbonation, otherwise ok mouthfeel, fairly balanced for the style. Malt comes through on the finish and hangs around a bit then alcohol shows up for a bit and dissipates, great lacing.

Pours a reddish brown. Caramel malt in the aroma. Taste is nutty and toasty malt. Subtle hop presence in the finish. Seems just a little bit thin.

Oranegy brown in color, with thin to average head. Aromas of citrus at first, caramel near middle. Sweet malt taste not too overly complex but well done.

Pours crayon craola brown. It is brown and tasty and has a good taste. Only thing is if drunken with food or othner beer taste is lost or seems altered. Weak head that is different in each bottle not consistent and not a favorite. Had in 12 oz. bottle probably wont buy again aunless I am forced to or a hot girl wants to drink it and demands it.

The hops are a little stinky here. It has an amber brown appearance. Good malt character followed by dry hop. More of a Belgian brown. This one is not a real hooter.
