COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A smooth, toasty brown ale, Best Brown Ale is a mainstay in our fall & winter lineup. With hints of caramel and cocoa, the malt body has the depth to stand up to cool weather, but does not come across as heavy. This balancing act is aided by the generous use of American hops.

Very nutty and happy tasting brown ale. A little dry. Good though. Nice appearance.

Amber in color, with sediment visible through out. Two finger head, brown in color, again with sediment speckled throughout. Decent flavor, would enjoy this beer again.

12 oz. bottle. Pours a beautiful hazy dark amber in color with a minimal beige head. Aroma is bland--slight notes of malts. Malty in flavor with a slightly Belgian taste. The alcohol isnít completely hidden, but itís not that noticeable. Overall, good for a brown ale, but not quite up to the standards that Iíve set for Bells.

Caramel, crystal malt, and a sugary candy-like aroma. Body is a nice light brown, with and nicely forming head. Taste is a little fruity for a brown, with light caramel.

12oz bottle. Aroma: Sweet maltiness with a bit of toasted nuts and caramel. A touch of hops. Appearance: Pours reddish-brown in color and clear. Off-white head was full and frothy with good retention. Nice lacing. Flavor: Moderate malt sweetness, again with notes of toasted nuts and caramel. A bit of light fruitiness (pear and grape), and a nice hop finish. Finish is fairly dry with a mineral taste. Palate: Medium-light bodied. Medium carbonation. Overall: Good beer, but not my favorite style. Drinkable and with some interesting flavors. Maybe a touch to much alcohol to make this a good session beer.

Pours an Amber brown with head. I had a hard time detecting an aroma(roasts)? Shallow and malty bitter balance make for an interesting ale but its not exactly a great brown ale. Then again my expectations are high for this brewery.

Bottle. Pours brown. hm. The aroma is slightly nutty and a tad gummy. I get a reasonable amount of sweetness and a distinct lack of hop-character which surprised me a little. The flavor has a small amount of toasted malt and a dry, semi-tart finish. Itís pretty dead on for the style with a small hint at cinnamon being the only thing out of the ordinary. Itís okay, but nothing Iíll go for again.

Nice brown ale. Has a well balanced hop character with nutty grassy flavor. Small head but nice aroma. Pretty good beer.

(12oz bottle) pours a dark amber... brown. with a creamy looking off white head. aroma is nutty and malty, a little sweet caramel in there too. mouthful is smooth with a clean crisp feel, almost too dry.. void of character.
